Why??

It is perfectly possible to manufacture with minimal pollution. As one example, the bulk of China's pollution and CO2 emissions is coming from the generation of electricity by coal fired power stations being completed at something like 1 per week.

Not simply coal powered but lacking in any form…

It would be far better to implement a ban on light pollution from wasteful street lighting, up-lighters, illumination of public buildings such as Tokyo tower and the Rainbow bridge, Pachinko parlor lighting etc etc.

The results would be

a) No cost

b) Reduced energy consumption

c) Darker skies

Agreed,

The perfect solution would be to get rid of all the manned toll booths and ONLY have ETC gates on expressways.

Most of the traffic hold-ups on expressways tails back from the toll gates so encouraging the move toward ETC use is going to have the effect of reducing…

I can't take a Shinkansen to my nearest good hobby shop, or go to a safari park, or go skiing, or to the beach. Ever tried carrying a new born baby or young kids through crowded stations?

Trains are wonderful, but roads go to your final destination.
