The US Government is so broke they want to milk Toyota for all its worth...I'm sure they are extremely disappointed that the limit on the fine was only in the millions, but this really isn't much when Toyota has billions in the bank....

Personally, I think the American media is attacking Toyota. I live in Los Angeles, and there are recalls all the time for GM, Ford, Chrysler, and all the other American automobile companies, but the US media never talks about them. To me, it seems that since the US Government is bailing out its failing auto industry, they saw this opportunity to bash Toyota and boost that sales of the American cars. I think its a disgusting tactic devised by the American media and the government.

@BurakuminDes:
My grandmother went to an all woman's university in Japan, and I see no problem with that. In the US there are gender specific private schools all over. Its not that rare. Also, its not because they view woman as lesser people, that's not true at all (at least in this day in age, mostly). Its more because its a private school and they decided to make it an all woman's school.

Oh my god... all you people see one video and assume its something that would benefit your cause. i bet none of you have ever looked at the videos on the Japanese site...I have a hard time believing that that video shows a Japanese 'whaler' (more like employee) shooting pepper spray in his face.. and you cannot deny that the sea 'shepherds' are throwing 'butter bombs' that have turned rancid creating butyric acid at the Japanese whalers. Whether or not you agree with the Japanese whaling operation, if you deny that the 'sea shepherds' are terrorists, your insane....really people, open your eyes.

if these spiders are anything like the black widows we have here in southern California, there really isn't anything to worry about, just be conscious about them when poking through things that aren't moved very often (i.e. potted plants, ladders outside, really anything that you leave outside for a long time that doesn't get moved often)... but everyone should Google it just so they can be aware of what they look like

okay, first things first.... YOU ARE IN JAPAN, CONFORM TO THEIR CULTURE..... the emperor of Japan may not seem to have any power, but you have to realize that he symbolizes ancient Japan, and the Japanese culture, customs, and history. Stop complaining and realize that you are in a foreign country, not yours. Get used to their culture, and stop trying to force yours on them. Don't tell me that they are trying to force theirs upon you, they didn't make you come to Japan.
