Not to Yuna-bash, but how in the world did Yuna get a higher score on the free skate when she fell on her behind while Mao skated without falling? Mao jumped 2 triple axels on her free and you are saying that Yuna is that much more difficult elements than Mao?? Now something is wrong with the scoring system. If Yuna skated cleanly, then that is one thing, but you can't tell me that hers was that much more difficult than Mao?

Yuna looked very fatigued and a bit unmotivated.. Don't blame her.
She's burned out from Vancouver.
I'm pretty sure she wants to eat the food she missed and be with her friends who don't mind seeing her gain weight.
About Sara Hughes, she got heavy after winning her gold in Salt Lake. Not exactly skating shape.
I hope Mao doesn't turn out like Michelle Kwan by winning all the other competition, but the Olympic gold.
Yuna should learn to enjoy life as a normal 19 year old should do. Now the pressure is off her back. I doubt that she wants to train anymore and I don't blame her. She wants to have fun and party like other 19 year olds.

It sounds like Yuna is most likely to retire..
She has already won the gold so why bother stressing herself for another 4 years of competition when she can make millions doing something else besides skating?
Yuna looked a bit unmotivated and a bit out of shape compared to Vancouver.
On one of the Korean papers, she mentioned how she wants to eat the food she missed and be with her friends who wouldn't mind seeing her gain weight. Sounds like retirement words to me.
If I were Yuna Kim, I would go for the big bucks, because if she stays skating, she won't make as much money since Brian Orser is not exactly cheap. Plus I'm pretty sure she wants to enjoy life now she has won the gold.

I remember Aiko when she made her Olympic debut in Nagano at the age of 19. She was also in 4th place in Nagano, but got overshadowed by Tae Satoya who became the 1st Japanese woman to win a gold medal ever. It's too bad she has bad judgment in life when she shagged a foreigner in a club. I guess she didn't know how to use a love hotel.

OK, comparing Canada to Beijing is bad, because China is about to be the wealthiest nation in the world and they are a sleeping giant.
So let's compare to Torino which is more reasonable comparison. I thought Torino had a better opening and closing ceremony than Vancouver. Italy is no economic superpower, but I thought it looked so much better than Vancouver.

Have you realized that Canada's Opening and Closing Ceremony looked so cheap?
Torino and Beijing put a far better showing.
I guess the economy in Canada is that bad.

Canada won an Olympic gold in Ice Hockey! Yeah Canada!
Without American fans, NHL will declare for bankruptcy and Canadian players would play in Europe professionally.
Lucky that Canadians have American NHL fans

Branded,
I guess you are not reading my post carefully.
I was being sarcastic over Canada's gold.
Since they won't get 14 gold in London, nor in Soichi too.

Yeah, Canada won their gold at the only sport they are good at.
Yeah Canada

I don't think Rochette deserved her bronze. Then again, it's a bronze medal and its not worth fighting for.
Mirai isn't complaining so I guess the mercy medal is worth giving to Rochette. Her score was a bit high since she really didn't do anything all that difficult.

tensaicanadian,
If you were the judge and had to select between Rochette & Nagasu. Would you select Rochette. I would, even though Nagasu skated better than Rochette.
One have a very bright Olympic future, but the other is in the retirement age. 28 is considered a fossil age for Figure Skating and that is how old Rochette will be in 2014. Vancouver should be her last Olympics.
It's a bronze, and not worth fighting over. Nagasu was happy to be placed in 4th, because she never thought she would be placed that high in the 1st place.
Whatever happened to Sasha Cohen? She seems so out of it and unable to qualify in the US team, since she was beat out by Flatt and Nagasu.

Ice Hockey is one of the few sport Canada can be proud of.

Branded,
That's because Canada is pathetic in Summer games and at the same time they are horrible in baseball and basketball too. This is one of the few things Canadians can be proud of.
Let them enjoy their 14 gold, because they won't get that many in the Summer games in 2012 nor in Soichi in 2014.
Yeah, Canada is horrible in Little League World Series.

Mao deserve the silver more than Rochette.
Rochette wasn't that great either and Mirai Nagasu skated better than her. If I was a judge, I will probably give Rochette the pity points since she's 24 while Nagasu is 16. One is most likely to continue to Soichi. 28 is considered grandmas age for a figure skater.

Who cares whether or not Rochette got the pity medal or not. It's just a bronze medal.
This will be Rochette's last Olympics and Mirai Nagasu is just getting started.
I would give the medal to Rochette too if I was the judge. As long as it's not gold.

Well at least Olympic hockey is competitive since NHL players are allowed to compete in the Olympics.
If it was still the old way, and the Cold War still existed. It would be Soviet dominance, and that's no fun. Not even the Soviet players seemed excited whenever they score a goal.
I doubt you will see US-Canada gold medal match in Soichi, because they usually underachieve outside of North America. It's probably be more like Russia-Czech or Sweden in the gold medal match for 2014. It seems to be that way.

Maybe I made a bad comparison to Beijing, but their Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony looked really cheap.
