I never thought I would agree with a Clinton.
But I do agree (on this point and this point alone).
Anyway, we oughta just tell the rest of the world not to meddle in our affairs like that PRC boilerplate comment.
But we don
t ignore the rest of the world and try respond anyway even though it dont help nothing.People don
t like you they dont like you, Bru.And you can take that to the bank.

Everyone has an iPod it seems. Boring. People forget the sound is the thing.
I recommend iriver.
They have some excellent designs. And the sound is rated very good on most reviews I have read.
No, I don
t work for iriver. But I oughta sendem an invoice for this endorsement.I just plain don`t like Microsoft and Apple for their domination of the market.
Boring.

The choice of dresses is just off.
Koyuki is not in Gone with the Wind, but she is wearing a curtain nevertheless.
Momoi`s getup looks like it is a kevlar weave and would stop bullets from most small arms fire. Designs by Batman??And what do you call those, bangles? They are some whoppers!
And Blanchett looks like Grace Jones whoever she is.
And we are all getting older every day.
So not an age thing with me.
So and so wa ojisan ni natta! So and so wa obasan ni natta!
Whaddya expect?
Momoi looks good for 58! Can that be right??
Anyway, enough with the auto-pilot obasan/ojisan ni nattaaaa, stuff.
I guess this new line of cosmetics is for the age group we see above . . . .
And my opinion is balanced.
I am almost 23 myself.
If I told you I always lie, am I telling the truth now?
Fountain of youth?
Nah. They could have looked much nicer with the right outfits.
I bet each of them could do better choosing her own clothes out of Uniqlo.
Really.
And I am not putting down Uniqlo.

Sorry, Japan has not "internationalized" much since it started talking about it in the 1980`s. And it still is "talking" about it. Visit Hong Kong and you will see a truly international city.
God bless me I love Tokyo, but it is not internationalized really.
If the guy wants to go native, fine by me.
But I would think twice about that.

No in general but it depends on the paper in question. Some piece of garbage like the New York Slimes?? No way!
The only good thing about the New York Times may be the book reviews and best seller list.
In fact, I might be tempted to pay for the Washington Examiner, but I would rather just get the paper if possible.
Online content for papers and books is just not as efficient as the real deal as far as perusal goes.
But the New York Times is as dead as Dave Letterman.
No thank you.

Meaningless photo that does not tell a thousand words. People are still flying and the airlines are still always "in trouble." Same old same old.

I think a certain commenter above needs to read the title of this piece again:"U.S., U.N. send more troops to help in Haiti." The very fact that so much space is being devoted to what "other" countries are doing is because we really know who is doing the most. And is actually being asked to do MORE by the Haitians themselves. If any of the commenters know more about Haitian needs than the Haitians themselves, well . . . I want that person to step forward. I certainly don
t know better than they do. CNN is doing its bit to increase ratings because that network is in the tank. Much more so than said conservative radio jock, whatever his name is. His ratings are thru the roof and ya hafta PAY to join his club. And a lot of people are apparently paying. Their choice. And Haitis choice to request aid from the US, too.Posted in: U.S., U.N. send more troops to help in Haiti

Having kept up with the latest news from abroad, I think the response is as good as it could be. In fact, the Haitians have begun delaying the response by their own actions. The US is by far the leader in the effort to aid Haiti. BUT, I am disgusted by US politicians who are clearly lining up for the cameras for purely political purposes. They ARE exploiting this crisis. And they are prominent members of the US Democratic Party now in control of Congress. I support my country for good reason, but I also have the liberty to criticize it for good reason. Nor am I overly impressed by CNN and Anderson Cooper who show up like some saviors when they are also exploiting the crisis for ratings (and CNN is way down in viewer ratings). These politicians and talking heads can just visit the disaster and leave whenever they like, unlike the Haitians. So, the rescue effort on the part of the US, apart from the politicians and CNNs, is the best it can be. Funny thing to see Democrats and CNNs in lockstep. Actually not so funny as most Americans have already gotten fed up with likes of CNN who no longer make any effort at unbiased objective reporting.

As you can see many are good at talking, especially the UN. Only a few take real action, and, yes, the US makes up the bulk of the few. Real boots on the ground for a pretty good cause. Although an Australian TV Crew seems to be galavanting about. Note that the Haitians right now are the Haitians own worst enemy. Hell hole before hell hole plus after.

The best that can possibly be done.
I see Hehe ("he") is out USA bashing as usual.
Please all of us remember that there is NO international law compelling any country to help Haiti or any other sovereign nation after a natural disaster.
I am not sure about "he"-googling this time, but I am sure that some Haitians are already complaining about the "service." They should feel fortunate to get any aid at all.
And yes, blah, blah, blah, the number one "aider" is the US.
Because we are located nearby and uh . . . we just must help everyone who comes running for aid.
If we help, complaints.
If we don`t, complaints.
The more the the international community complains about everything USA, the more ammunition it gives to those Americans who favor a "Fortress America."
Why help if that help is returned by the whining of a USA-dependent, international community?
We already foot your defense bill freeing you up to become whatever you like, including socialists.
Super-cheesh!

WilliB, I dunno about that one. Take the car for a spin and you might be glad you did. Same objective, different method.
SiouxGirl, if you have a complaint about the reactions by the males to this piece, you might first want to complain to the people who first posted it, if you get my drift.

What country is providing the most aid by far to Haiti in its moment of need? Next, I tend to favor Rush Limbaugh, but I am well aware that while conservative, he is also in it for the money. Next, I think Pat Robertson
s comment was just dumb. For if Haiti actually made a pact with the devil, it really got a raw deal, wouldnt you say?Moderator: Please discuss Rush Limbaugh on the relevant thread.

hehehoho,
My claim is "problematic?" And the US has "meddled" and that is your "critique?"
Nice big juicy words. Little impact.
I admit other countries have helped. But you admit they have helped nothing on a scale like the US.
And you are correct.
I just see you as ambivalent about the issue. You recognize the US is the main source of aid in your comments, yet you also condemn the US.
Or does the US both aid and meddle?
Nope. I am not in a position to reconcile these opposing views held in your own mind.
That is up to you.

"I'm with Superlib.
Who cares who gets the credit? It's time for people to put their egos aside and just help.
Sheesh.

I really think this is about the facts. Who is helping whom is important to recognize. Even on a inter-personal level.
But since you have put your ego nicely aside, please let us all know what you have done to help Haiti . . . .
Double-sheesh!

Chubu tells the tale. Good job with the history!
" Much of Haiti's current economic woes are due to the drain its former colonising "motherland" had on it. When Haitian slaves had the audacity to fight for their freedom in the early 1800s (the second American nation to become independent), an important part of the peace treaty was the requirement for Haiti to pay huge reparations to France for property (land. slaves, and deserting soldiers) France lost. With huge annual interest rates on unpaid reparations, Haiti wasn't able to finish paying until the 1940s! No other American nation had to pay its ex-colonial master for its freedom. This was the basis for continual poverty in Haiti throughout its post-independence history.
France, maybe time to pay back that money now?"
