If Aso had not repeatedly denied that there was any evidence that slave labor was used by his families company, then this would not be an issue. Every time the Japanese govt attempts to rewrite history and deny the past then the issue is brought up again. The solution is simple, admit it, apologize, then it will cease to be an issue. The Japanese revisionists are the ones responsible for the past being dredged up again and again.

What everyone seems to ignore is Japans voracious greed for resources. Japan is sucking the oceans dry of fish and must move on to whales. Japan is the biggest consumer of rainforest timber on the planet. Japan cares not one iota for the planet as long as there is money to be made.

There are some mighty uninformed postings going on. Yes, SS have sunk whaling ships. A friend of mine sank the 2 in Rekyavik harbor. The 3rd whaling ship in the harbor was not touched because a human was on board. According to you guys damaging property is terrorsim? and BTW, my friend stayed in rekyavik to be arrested but the authorities left him alone because they did not want the publicity of a trial because they were engaged in illegal whaling

The title of the book uses the word correctly. Japan is not homogeneous. Anyone who says otherwise is misusing the word. Mostly homogeneous, nearly homogeneous.... both might be accurate, but homogeneous has a clear definition.

Sorry nessie, but the definition of homogeneous is "ALL PARTS THE SAME" Even 99.9% the same is not homogeneous.
