stone fish has it right "It is a wonderful thing to attribute your personality and character to something which you have no control over. So liberating!".... avoiding personal responsibilty is a full-time occupation for the Japanese, and yes it derives from Nazi eugenics, dropped everywhere else in the world, but a cornerstone of nihonjinron.

I agree with speed..... the people in japanese cities are different from real country folk. The idea that farming is hard is a bunch of bull. The real reason people want to leave the country is because pachinko parlors and conbini's are few and far between.

It's astounding how little most Japanese know about their own history. When westerners visited in Japan in the early Meiji period they were convinced that the Japanese could never become an industrial nation because they lacked a work ethic. People went to work when they felt like it and spent a lot of time getting drunk and going to matsuri. The current japanese work ethic was created by brainwashing the citizenry in part with the NEW state religion of shinto.

It's a scientific fact that japanese dna predisposes them to want to follow. That way all responsibility can be avoided. I'm quite sure mina montas views are shared by many.
Posted in: Maybe what Japan needs right now is a dictator, a dictator with good intentions. If you spend your time discussing issues, then for example the abductions issue will remain unsolved. Certain things can only be achieved by a dictator. He can act decisively within a limited period of time.

The foreign ministry official is simply posturing for the domestic media, who will continue to spout whatever the government wants them to spout so that the Japanese people will not have to think about or do any research on the issue. As can be seen by the arguments put out by the obviously japanese posters on this thread.

calling it a solar car is the same exaggeration as the recent story of a solar ship. Only a very tiny percentage of its power will come from solar.
