An engineer, Hines said he was inspired to create the robot after a friend died in the Sept 11, 2001, terror attacks. That got him thinking about preserving his friend’s personality, to give his children a chance to interact with him as they’re growing up.

so naturally, he created a talking sex doll.

Police say he could be recognized as a man immediately.

Behold the crack investigative genius of the j-cops.

What's even worse is that since they've recently tortured and executed a news reporter, many Mexican news outlets have voluntarily stopped reporting these events, so it may even be worse than it seems.

If you are young, poor man with skills in Mexico, joining up with a cartel can seem to be much more lucrative and a much easier choice than being a cop or joining the army.

It's going to get to the point where the cartels have more men, more firepower than the police or military, and with no conscience whatsoever, Mexico can easily turn into an outlaw run country.

Not to mention the impact it will have on Mexico's tourism. I used to go to Mexico all the time while in university, but I'd never go there now.

a part-time employee at an adult entertainment business

    I call reporting foul.

The Mainichi is reporting that she is a part time restaurant worker. No "adult entertainment" sensationalism.

Because they can't mention her name, and hence her place of work, any restaurant, likely an izakaya, where they serve alcohol can be considered an adult entertainment place for increased web traffic and ad revenues.

this is just your normal, run of the mill JHS girl who smokes a little dope. Not entirely mainstream, but she's certainly not giving handies for a dollar between classes in her school uniform like some of you guys are imagining.

But it's good that the J-cops are spending all their time and resources chasing junior high school girls with about two hits worth of dope.

these fools have got it backwards. they choose cities that would make good "hosts." that's why they call it "hosting" the olympics. It's supposed to be a good city for the athletes, and the spectators. This is exactly why the Olympic committee says only one city can host the olympics.

But japan is acting like the olympics is like gift from daddy or something, and they are jumping around saying "gimme gimme gimme" because they think they are some kind of special case, instead of showing how they would be a good "host". Purely selfish.

"the buck stops with me" means the buck stops with me.

"ultimately, the buck stops with me" means that it kinda sort of does, so long as it's not so bad, in the grand scheme of things, but just in case, i can blame other people if it's obvious enough, and if I fire them for messing up, that kind of falls under the umbrella of "ultimately..."

Hyogo police said they received information last summer that girls at a public junior high school were smoking marijuana, and began their investigation. They searched the homes of the four girls on Wednesday

Wow, those boys in blue are really on top of things. They spent half a year off a tip that some kids were smoking dope.

nanda - I'm referring to the one listed above by Okisurfer, taken by the J-ship, it looks, or could be argued to look, that they were going to pass them but steered into them. it had kind of weird angle. I could see how somebody could watch that and say it's proof that the J-ship hit the hippy ship.

Re: video, somebody tell those clowns this ain't basketball where you can easily draw the charge like that. Those tools got owned. Unfortunately, from the angle of the video you could argue (incorrectly of course) that the Whaler "steered" into them. That's gonna give those anti-whaling fools a lot of ammunition.

But yea, funny how they sprayed them as they passed by them.

Cops are supposed to have their eyes peeled and their senses sharp. That's why they're called "patrol cars." For a normal person, this is forgivable, but not for a cop who is supposed to be a trained professional. Of course this guy was probably busy looking at balconies for panties to swipe.

The person left the scene to report to police that a man was lying on the road.

You'd think maybe somebody finding an old guy lying in the middle of the road would at least drag him off to the side? Or stand over him to make sure something like this doesn't happen? Or at least call the cops on your keitai, and stand there to flag down cars and tell them to be careful? I know it says the dude only left for a minute, but still.

    This is horrible.

somebody better tell him(or whoever translated this) you bury hatches, and bridge gaps.

Here's his latest tweet (translated by babelfish):

Being hung in the positive shining which now morning is good quickly, it appeared in the garden of the official residence, but being very cold, the shank. New Year's Day at many places was visited in the heavy snow, but everyone how was, probably will be? Our Cabinet is the first day of the year for work in earnest from today. This year taking life of everyone into consideration always, it starts working by all power. We ask may
