If it directly affects me, I'll do something about it. This would be guys taking up too much space, etc. Nobody has ever fallen asleep on me.
I could give two rips about girls putting on makeup.

Communication is key. It's normal to feel depressed, most people do. But to be depressed and not be able to talk to anybody about it is horrible. Parents need to make it part of being a good parent to talk to their kids on a daily basis about ordinary stuff, and not wait until their teacher calls to get involved in their kids lives.
Of all the kids I interact with, the ones that seem the happiest and most "normal" are the ones whose parents I see or hear about taking an active interest in their lives.
The ones that are in danger are the ones handed over to the "system," the salary man assembly line that begins with elementary school, and ends in either retirement, or death.
Obviously, people who get married and have kids because of social pressure, and it's the thing to do are most in danger of producing depressed kids who feel there is no way out.
Those that actually love their husband/wife and see their kids as an end in and of themselves usually do all right.

Wait, so you mean those Double D cup pills I've been secretly giving my girlfriend won't work?
Not always. A good hawker of legitimate medicines can use their veracity as a solid marketing claim.

Why in the world are juries allowed to question defendants? Does this happen in any other country? Do they give these jurors any guidance on how to ask questions of a defendant who has already pleaded guilty? Despite losing your cool like that, that's a tough spot to be put in. I think most guys would react the way this juror did to a guy who broke a girls wrist while raping her.
Kind of tough to ask questions without much guidance of what you are looking for.
P.S. "You piss me off." Is the best he could come up with?

Hope she gets locked up for good. Poor woman on the bike. What troubles me the most in cases like this is that woman on bike may have lived had the driver acted responsibly, stopping and calling an ambulance, instead of speeding home to erase everything with alcohol. I suspect the daughter was aware of mom's drinking/driving problem and had had enough of it.
Good on her for calling the cops.

What a goof. He was on this girl's balcony. She comes home. Sees him, and runs away. He, of course, stands there like the socially retarded dweeb that he is, probably imagining that she went out to buy some sexy lingerie or something. He's a cop, she's a cop. It didn't register as a possibility in his panty fantasy ridden mind that she might be going out to get more cops?
this sounds like an episode from the pink panther or something.

How are Japanese people going to appreciate the problems associated with jury trials? I agree with other posters, the original is a classic not to be missed.

You'd think with sattelite tracking technology they could easily follow the ship and sink it after the hostages were safely off.
This may seem like a dumb move, but governments have got to be at least thinking along these lines. At the very least they should have the offending vessels tagged somehow. It's not like a hostage movie where the bad guys escape into a crowded city...

This is nothing new. Many serial killers have hoardes of female fans. Even Richard Ramirez, the night stalked in Cali, was married while on death row. Par for the course. Some women like killers, pure and simple.
The only spin here is trying to pretend this is some new phenomenom unique to Japan. It ain't.
Nothing new folks, move along.

This is a foolish waste of tax money. It isn't based on anything other than some vague feeling that it might work. Blue lights. Maybe they should switch to those red laser lights that sent everybody into siezures a few years ago. that would be a hoot.
And they should consider suicide only trains, so that people that do choose to off themselves don't inconvenience others.

Say what you will about the "bow," but in many photos with Obama and other world leaders (not that the figuredhead emperor counts as a world leader) Obama does she markedly deferential behavior and body language compared to previous U.S. presidents, both dems and repubs.
