Who, hold the phone. She locked a dude in the freezer, and was going to leave him there to die? I can understand robbing a store to help out your family, but she could've potentially killed the guy had she left him.

I hope she gets more than a slap on the wrist.

Wow, that yamaguchi-gumi gang is really a tough bunch. Reminds me of that scene from "Repo Man" when the tough wanna be criminal said:

"Let go do some crimes! Lets get sushi and not pay!"

I guess the J-economy is pretty bad when the yaks have to steal their lunch.

Very few people in any country practice TRUE manners, meaning that they honestly are concerned about offending others. Most people, in ALL countries, are only pretending because they are afraid of repercussions. As more and more people start to realize that there won't really be any repercussions that can't be handled with a slew of curse words, people as a whole EVERYWHERE will slowly become more and more like A-holes.

As far as the title of the article was, I don't think I've ever seen a zombie flick where they weren't self centered, so I'm not sure why that was added, I thought that was a given when talking about zombies.

Sad case, but that goes with the territory when you work in a bar and advertise, or let it be advertised, that you like to be aggressively pursued. Mix in the typically sexually frustrated j-nutter here, and you've got potential for disaster, as this case obviously was.

I hope her family can afford a lawyer to prosecute the bar owner in a wrongful death case as mentioned before.

    P.S.

EIGHTY COPS? WTF? Does it take that many to sit around in the koban and wait for this guy to turn himself in?

You'd think this guy with all his connections to organized crime would be able to arrange for a private show with a girl dressed like a H.S. student...

Toru Honda, an otaku philosopher who advocates a “two-dimensional love revolution” in his book “Moeru Otoko” (The Budding Man), writes that otaku who can balance the physical and emotional are the next stage of human evolution

somebody better clue in this philosopher that any "next stage in evolution" must ALWAYS be more prolific as far as producing offspring.

And given Japan's ever decreasing birthrate, any "next stage in evolution" ain't likely to come from this island, how ever many dimensions these otaku's can dream up.

What is unsettling about this (other than the crime itself) is that the police are reporting to the news services that the man was speaking Chinese, as if it were a fact. This "fact" is based only on eyewitness testimony of a most certainly terrified victim.

Note they didn't say "allegedly spoke Chinese" but they described him as a Chinese speaking assailant.

Incredibly shoddy police work as well as reporting.

However, if this guy IS Chinese, and won't turn himself into the local koban like a good citizen, the police will most certainly NOT catch him.

    Good work fella's.

Nice. guy steals dolls for woman's kid. Women likely knew all about it. guy gets caught, fesses up. Woman pulls the innocent "oh , i didn't know what was going on" routine.

Men, be careful who you steal for. Make sure she really appreciates it, and won't leave you hanging when the fuzz shows up.

Do the crime together, do the time together.

I had my doubts when I saw the trailer, despite the decent special effects. I'm expecting more than obvious social commentary about indigenous peoples, environment, etc, with a semi-decent story. I suspect it will be long on special effects as well as cliche.

I'm reminded of "The Abyss" that lasted about three hours too long.

I'll go and see it, no doubt, but something tells me this won't be a smash hit.

    I hope I'm wrong.

Then, after a while it got worst and no longer entertaining or interesting to me, so I have given it up.

I agree. I heard it was because the main writers left and went to work for "Hero's"

Wow, world governments getting together to try and solve personal mistakes, or poor choices in a spouse.

When you choose a life partner to raise kids with, its YOUR job to pick somebody that won't run and hide at the first sign of trouble. If you think it's gonna be a problem, make sure any kids you have with a J-girl aren't born in Japan.

If having kids with a J-girl in Japan is the best you can do, then prepare to deal with the consequences.
