    headline is a bit misleading. sounds as the boy finished driving, and then promptly stabbed his dad. A more appropriate headline might be:

    boy stabs dad after argument over car

    or something similar

    couple points.

    1)This was a government run apartment, meaning the family (no father mentioned) was likely low budget. I doubt a robber would break into the projects to burglar them.

    2)She said the man and the unfortunate deceased were grappling in the kitchen, but the boy was found in the bedroom, knife at his side.

    Did the mom stand idly by while the son staggered to his bedroom, pull out the knife, and collapse?

    I'll give 70/30 odds we get a confession from mom within a week.

    Most posters are discussing it like it has involved normal Japanese people and is a reflection of 95% of the normal people in society, I severely doubt it involved regular people. Every society has these miscreants occupying the cellar of society and Japan is no exception.

    the article didn't mention anything about the girls father, and it mentioned that they regularly hung out in a 18 y/o apartment.

    Something fishy about an 18 y/o with his own apartment. Throw together a bunch of hooligans who regularly hang out there, horrible, degrading things are bound to happen.

    These are definately not your ordinary everyday people.

    I cannot begin to fathom that would cause a man to rape a girl while the girls mom was holding a knife to her throat.

    I certainly hope the girl recovers enough to have a normal life.

    According to police, the man turned himself in after the second attack in Settsu, Osaka Prefecture.

    this sounds bizarre. Did he do it on his own accord, e.g, did he throw his poo, and then walked to the cop shop by himself, or did the victim drag him there, or yell at him or publicly shame him?

    how exactly did he prepare the feces before hurling it? did he bring it from home, produce it on the spot?

    C'mon JT, Details!

    I used to work at a pizza place. When we closed up at night, we'd catch them and put them in the microwave. Great fun.

    the ones I find in my apt, despite spraying them directly bug killer, they still squirm around for several minutes. Sometimes a newspaper or a shoe is the best option.

    Very cute. Vapid, but cute. Remember, dear leader Aso held up a fashion magazine a few months ago as Japan's contribution to the world, so this is in line with that foreign policy.

    The world does need cuteness, after all, and who better than Japan than to provide it?

    Despite all the negative comments about the keystones, I feel for the poor bloke who had to face down a bunch of motorcycle thugs on his own. Cops need to learn to demand compliance from their suspects, and lose their Japanese politeness. When they are dealing ordinary, passive citizens, it's ok to be polite and respectful, but when dealing with motorcycle thugs, its' best to wait for backup and throw down some rodney king.

    I haven't seen too many J-cops that look physically capable of pulling that off. I once saw a group of three cops having trouble ejecting a drunken homeless guy from a mall.

    She admitted to hitting Hara but told police that he was sleeping on the road.

    How exactly did she know that he was sleeping? She drives in her car, feels a bump, looks back and notices some guying lying there and decides he was sleeping BEFORE she hit him? Somebody call Horatio.

    Seriously, it sickens me that she knew she hit somebody and left him for dead. I hope she goes away for a long time.

    wait, wait. let me get this straight...bunch of kids together....fireworks... a crowded train..

    and he lights it, gets caught, and says

    "uh, uh, I didn't mean to....I'm sorry..."

    If I had a nickle for every time I did something like this on purpose and got out of punishment by saying "I'm sorry, it was only an accident..."

    right now he's is a hero among his friends for doing this. You think any slap on the wrist Japanese style punishment will deter him?
