I don't know what the big deal is. Politicians make loads of promises while running for election. The easiest one is to distance yourself from an unpopular incumbant by saying you'll do the opposite (whatever that might be), only to realize the role of the President is shaped much more by circumstance them personal ideology or personality.
Anybody is a fool for believing ANY politician preceding an election.
I hope Pres. Obama can continue the fight against the Taliban without being influenced by the unavoidable yet tragic instances of friendly fire.

I hope Pres. Obama takes the hint. When you become friendly with bad guys, and assume everything is hunky dorey, they will only build up their strength and resolve to kill you. Whether its 2009 or 3000 BC, the law of he jungle will always apply.

Interesting clip on YouTube from Ron Paul. He explains that when this swine flu thing came out in the seventies, they rushed to make a vaccine. Problem is that the vaccine itself killed more people that the actual flu.

I don't think this is really an elbow to the throat, more likely a glancing blow, with the photo taken after the actual punch connected.

Flu, swine flu, normal flu, even colds are most contageous BEFORE symptoms appear. So if you wait until you feel like you've got something to wear a mask, it's too late. AND generally the mode of infection is
germs on surface-->germs on hands-->germs in eyes
In either case the mask only provides the protection of a placebo, which is proven to be much better than nothing.

So let me get this straight.
A woman and her kids call the cops because her husband is beating them, and the best the j-cops can do is tell them to seek protection?
WTF is that?
I say a slap on the wrist, and case closed. And make sure she gets hubby's pension.

One FACT that you can't ignore (although I have no idea what it means) is that Obama is the MOST polarized president, as far as approval rating split between dems and repubs after 100 days. HOWEVER, with each president since NIXON, the gap has consistently gotten wider, so it's likely a meaningless statistic, as is the 100 day bench mark the media created to give their goons something to write about.
What I see In Obama's future is a steadily increasing erosion of support, as the economy will continue to tank, and the more problems keep coming up, people will start to realize they need more than a charismatic speaker to the choir to steer the country back on track.
One thing that is troublesome is how people keep referring to the previous administration, Obama included. That only works BEFORE the election, not after.
As soon as Obama's public opinion slips significantly, he will be completely powerless, AKA Jimmy Carter.
His only hope for effective leadership is to maintain solid support among dems in the house, as they currently have a majority. If they start to bicker with him, it's done.

Japan doesn't have much room because they have been "middled". Japan can't very well admit to the atrocities on Nanjing because they would have to give up the victim card they play every year regarding Hiroshima.
Another reason is the emperor wasn't convicted of any war crimes. The reason the Germans could distance themselves from the Horrors of the concentration camps, is because it was done in the name of Hitler and the Nazis. A disgraced man and a disgraced party. Japan can't very well distance themselves from their own emperor, so their only real choice is to pretend nothing happened.
But this film should do wonders for Japans reputation in China.

While I in no way condone what this woman did, I can certainly understand her frustration, especially in light of Himajin's MIL. With no way to go out and earn a needed income, and needing to watch over somebody 24/7, something is bound to snap.
There's got to be a better way.
Perhaps they need to create a kind of elderly welfare tax, similar to how welfare was created in the states during the depression. And then import hospice workers from other countries. With the aging population in this country, they gotta do something.

Usually companies want to keep people from stealing because it is cutting into their profit. I doubt they will see any increase in sales because of this. Sounds like more of an ego play, or some out of touch executive's decision. I somehow viewing manga online in a non printable or non downloadable format will be of any value. I'm into manga myself, but I suspect at least half the thrill is the teamwork involved, which I understand is fairly extensive. And of course reading hacked Japanese cartoons is pretty exciting, I would suppose.

Asia pop stars are engineered more than the west. Western stars are engineered, but there is still an amount of choice, so the REALLY popular ones are popular because their is a natural demand for their music. Acts in asia are only popular because they are the acts pushed on the public the most by the asia-pop factories. There is no room for originality. Garage bands can become hugely popular in the west, but rarely have they done so in Asia.

Iran is getting closer to having NUKES. N. korea is getting closer to NUKE launching capability. Pakistan is expected (by experts) by be under COMPLETE Islamic control in five or ten years.
And we got some guy in the white house that wants to smile and shake everybody's hand and open a "dialogue."
ISLAM HATES THE WEST. No dialogue will reduce this hate. They will soon have nukes that they can easily deliver to their enemies. These are people that cut peoples heads off on the internet, and believe it is their god given duty to kill non believers.
When will the foolish west wake up and see this for the real and present danger that it is?
