This is a waste of time. No laws by U.S. Congress will change any laws in Japan. This is good for the congressmen/congresswomen to look good to their constituents, nothing less.
Sad situation, nonetheless.

Must be a sad and horrible life without options to think that dumping your own kid in a toilet is your only choice. Regardless if they catch this girl or not, her life will likely be filled with pain and misery, anyway.

Japan Inc. could be in serious trouble, as Toyota is pretty much THE main product (beside anime and bukakke) when world citizens think of Japan.
This may be the beginning of the end for the "made in Japan = quality" meme.
Didn't one of Clancy's Jack Ryan novels start out with a big, deadly problem with Japanese made cars?

Yea, gotta agree with Sarge, no skin in a wedding dress, please. If that dress on that girl in front was a different color, she'd look like a vegas showgirl. Maybe.

You mean if the camera's were there, there was somebody monitoring REAL TIME, and there were police and ambulances on standby just in case something like the stabbing that would have happened.
In all likelihood, these cameras are like all other security camera's and connected to recording device to catch the criminal AFTER THE FACT.
These camera's would not have saved one life, nor would they have prevented a suicidal maniac. All they would have done is lulled the shoppers into a false sense of security, like lambs to a slaughter.
The truth of he matter is, these camera's are there FOR IMAGE ONLY, to make shoppers feel more safe, so they'll spend more money.

This guy that sparked these camera's intended to kill himself anyway. How on earth would camera's have stopped him?
This makes as much sense as those blue lights on the subways.

I've heard, but not studied first hand, that a lot of those "reserves" are due to creative bookkeeping.
It's not like they send auditors to every country to pour through their records.
Gold, of course, is gold. But "foreign exchange reserves" sound like they could be flim flammed a little bit.

anytime somebody kills a family member and claims they did it because they (the dead people) would be better off, they are full of utter crap.
This guy, in some twisted fashion, likely blamed his family for making him have to be some kind of bread winner, and therefore it was there fault that he was in so much debt and killed them out anger.
Most "normal" dudes when they can't support their family just bail, never to be heard from again.
This guy is a cowardly loser, through and through, and should be punished as much as the law permits.
