If you live in Japan, and you've never heard of Hikaru Utada, you are isolated in a gaijin bubble, and need to take off your "bwana hat" and mingle with some "locals."

Are you sure that is Christina Aguilera? She used to be a babe! Now she looks like The Babe (the movie).

This "couples use it for privacy" fable is almost certainly an urban legend.

Au contraire, I have used these hotels with my wife, and they are great. Don't knock them till you've tried them.

How about a decent-priced under the counter convection oven?

Kids often don't tell their parents, because they believe that if their parents get involved the situation may get worse - which may happen. So they feel that have no one to turn to. Teachers have no power. They cannot discipline their students. There is no policy for expulsion. J-teachers have their hands tied by federal law on education. The whole system needs to be changed.

Principal Fumio Suzuki described the incident as “truly heartbreaking” and said that it had affected him deeply. “I failed to properly check for signs of bullying,” he said.

Start charging these teachers and principals with contributing to the death of a student. Give the some jail time. Maybe something might change.

It's absolutely disgusting that these girls, and boys, are killing themselves. The adults must step up and help them. If the classes were a decent size (max 25 or so), and teachers had some power (to punish, expel, suspend) students, then the situation may begin to change.

Japan should be embarrassed - this kind of situation is total humiliation for Japan.

"pamelot at 08:53 AM JST - 14th November Can you smell the hate? First smokers, now fat people..."

No, not at all. No hate. I am totally tolerant of weighty people. However, when their fat overlaps into my space, that's where my tolerance ends. Why should I have to put up with someone's disgusting fat laying on my hands, legs, torso? Yeow, yuck!

"Monkeyz at 09:28 PM JST - 13th November Now, let's be fair: Just because someone's fat does not make them a slob."

No, I don't care about them at all. BUT, when they are laying their fat on me - it's frankly disgusting. Why should anyone be allowed to lay their fat on me? They can tuck it in their own seat. Roll it over piggy.

Disgusting, to have someone's fat laying on me throughout a flight. Absolutely disgusting. I work hard to keep fat off my body, by diet and exercise, and to have some lazy, fat slob laying their fat on me is a violation of my human rights.

Almost the entire English teaching apparatus in Japan needs to be scrapped and totally overhauled. Japanese teachers of English need to be supported, and English classes should be taught in a professional manner. Currently, having 2-4 English classes a month is just absurd. Cut them out, or teach them right. Training Japanese teachers as real English teachers would go a long way to making the program respectable. J-students ridicule their English teachers, for good reason - most of them have no English ability, or very little, speaking Katakana-eigo at best. Get real, or get out of the English teaching business, and start Chinese classes, which is where the world is heading.

Yes, she is gorgeous, although about as "white rice" as a lady could be. Not a grain of genmai in her.

"Both sides will present their views at the meeting, which will be open to the media but not the general public, organizer Atsushi Nakahira said Wednesday."

And of course we know whose pocket the media are in, and totally fearful of the right-wing nuts.
