This article is misleading, confusing, unfocussed and erroneous.

I don't believe we should equate touching someone sexually, with looking up at females on the escalator and snapping a shot. One is very harmful, the other is pretty harmless.

Nab the molesters on the train, now!

On the other hand, if a girl shows her panties on the stairs, that's her problem. Public displays of private areas is the fault of the person doing the displaying. If it were one of us males, society would be up in arms about us displaying ourselves. But if it's h.s. girls, then it's our fault again. If they don't want people to look and snap, don't show it in public. (Of course it's different in the cases where those guys put cameras in their shoes (I still can't understand how they did that).)

"Younger Japanese are becoming more frugal than their parents and more confident about how they dress, rather than depending on high-end brands for status."

Only took 'em how many years. Jeez, change comes slow in old Japan.

Yep here is Japan. Land of the fair doctrine. Suck it up. Better yet, don't have kids until you have a plan to take care of them. Putting a one-year-old into daycare is akin to child abuse. If you can afford not to do it, don't do it. There are classes on-line, and correspondence courses. Don't be so self-centered.

"Debucho said: why don't high school girls wear black spandex work out pants under their skirts? then there would be nothing to see"

But then, the guys the girls want to see, couldn't.

If I were in charge, I would have put this article in the Crime section. BTW, if there was a lighter in the car, then the parents were no doubt smoking in the car, when the kids were there, which is also illegal (ie. criminal) in some places. All in all, there are criminal acts here.

How many people are affected by one suicide? I would estimate about 50 people, at least, including family, friends, teachers, classmates, police, doctors, EMT's (my EMT cousin is constantly pulling down suicides hanging in their apartments). That means about 1,600,000 people a year are personally affected by these suicides. In the last 10 years, 16,000,000 people have been traumatized to some degree. I am no psychologist, but I would presume that this would create quite a negative effect on society as a whole. I agree with the author that this problem must be addressed soon! Thank you for writing this. Despite a couple of errors/generalizations, it is an excellent article focusing on a big problem

    Good one lostrune2.

I can relax with a backrub, but with my head in a mini-skirted lap, not all of me is going to be relaxed for long. Then I have some more stress that needs relief.
