The only narcotic the seal cub gets is a club to the head. I agree that this is not a reliable anesthetic. If the seal is killed by the blow or knocked unconscious, then I suppose it is an effective, yet primitive pain killer. Otherwise not. My guess is the guys with the clubs don't care one way or the other.

Are you kidding? Did you see any pictures or video clips of this rent-a-mob? It was a bunch of obese black women and some old ladies. They would have had difficulty making it up the driveway without getting winded. My guess is some Democratic Party support organization rented the bus, and at the very least, paid for the protesters' meals (these looked like the type that can't go three hours without putting their face in the trough). They did it on the cheap though. Just one bus, just 40 protesters. It was nothing but a well planned photo-op.

I agree, neither cute or cool. They could have picked a better example of cool kawaii, because now I'm still at a lost for a definition. How does something go beyond kawaii to become cool kawaii?

Maybe if you applied yourself and worked hard instead of sitting on your ass like a baby bird waiting for someone to drop a worm in its mouth, you might eventually learn what it's like. Put down your lottery tickets and pick up a textbook.

This is the Trojan horse explanation the censors always use when they want to censor the Internet. The reality is they want to block politically incorrect sites that may be anti-democratic, anti-equalitarian, anti-semetic, anti-immigration, anti-Big Brother, anti-New World Order, etc. Anything site that might offer information to the public that interferes with the machinations of the powers that be.
Certain groups have been trying to find ways to censor the Internet for over a decade without it looking like it is the censorship it is. The easiest appeal is to claim the censorship is to protect children. In reality, these are the very same people who try to sexualize as early as possible through the media and advertising.
If they were just censoring porn sites, they wouldn't be afraid to release the full list of who they actually want to ban from the Internet.

Gee, being skinned alive seems a far worse fate than getting hit with a harpoon and painlessly bleeding to death. I agree, where are the big bad eco-terrorists of Sea Sheperd?
Yes, because wealthy Europeans never fly to New York City to go shopping, that's just common knowledge. "Wink-Wink!" Jesus, Liberals think everyone is as stupid as they are.

Probably a large percentage, considering the child is born a citizen and can serve as a residency anchor for the rest of the family. Also considering the cost of the child's birth is covered 100% by the taxpayer under indigent care laws.

England has always been hostile towards firearm ownership. When the wealthy and the government do not trust the citizens, then the people can't trust their leaders. It is no wonder the English went from leading a fourth of the World to now barely controlling Britain and a couple of islands, like Jamaica.

Isn't he? No. Russia is still coming back from being economically wrecked by Yeltsin (and 70 years of Communism) and rebuilding their strength. Russia is now flying their long range bombers 24/7 and sent a token fleet through the Panama Canal not long ago. Something they couldn't have done 10 years ago. There is also talk of reopening their naval base in Syria, but these things take time.

Daimler did buy Chrysler, but just before the crash, they sold the majority of their stake (90% I believe) to an American hedge fund that didn't know what the hell they were getting into. Chrysler would have collapsed long ago if the Germans hadn't bought that poison toad. They sold low price cars with equally low quality and had burned much of their customer base.
Chrysler should be dissolved into Ford or GM and their hedge fund owner should take the economic beating like your average 401k investor has.

I sure hope the government requires the (sucker) hedge fund that bought Chrysler is required to put up its assets as collateral for any further loans.

The Chinese shouldn't be worried about their investments, because it is backed by collateral they can seize when America eventually defaults: uranium mines, coal mines, oil fields off California and Florida (that the Chinese will tap), thousands of acres of forests on federal lands, and plenty of attractive women of low virtue that can be tossed in as a sweetener.

This is tit for tat. The United States continues to play in Russia's backyard, even under the Obama administration, including still pushing for NATO membership for Georgia and the Ukraine, so Russia is giving the USA a taste of its own medicine. So, it is a case of "mess with my interests and I will mess with your interests." Justified. Putin is the only Western leader with any guts.

Don't know if I would go so far as to call these prisoners POWs, which is a term that has some linkage with the Geneva Convention.
Correct. For example, those who volunteered to fight with the Nazi's against the Soviets -Belgians, Russians, Frenchmen, etc (many formal members of the volunteer S.S. corp)- were not covered by the Geneva Convention after the war ended. This proved very costly, especially to the Russians who found nowhere to hide in Western Europe after the conflict was over.
The solution is to not let them leave the battlefield.

China used to have its currency pegged to the dollar, which isn't an uncommon practice in this World, except when the United States wants its currency to decline vs. another to spur its own exports to that country.
What you don't understand is much of that "aid" comes back to the United States through the purchase of military equipment, agricultural products and engineering services such as building bridges and roads in these Third World basket cases. It is not so much "aid" as it is a back door transfer of taxpayer dollars to U.S. corporations.
China wouldn't need to dump its treasuries to rattle the U.S. economy. China would just have to refuse to buy any more U.S. debt. For example, the $700 million so-called stimulus package needs someone to pay for it. It will either be done with Chinese borrowing or a Wiemar Germany style running of the printing presses (that inflates the currency).

Part of the scam was that he convinced many of his clients to reinvest most of their returns, so even some of the smaller investors who got in early may have still lost it all. What should be interesting is if the government tries to "claw back" the profits of those really did make money in this illegal scheme. If not, the civil lawsuits should prove to be a real circus.
I also read that Madoff tried to get large Chinese investors involved toward the end, but they wouldn't get involved with him. Good for the Chinese for not getting deceived by this svengali.
