What a good attitude Palin has. In truth, Palin is probably the one asset McCain can use in Michigan. McCain's not well liked there because he told the autoworkers in the state that their manufacturing jobs aren't coming back (which is partly true - the jobs will come back, but at half the pay of previous generations of workers). McCain doesn't work in Michigan, but Palin, like Gov. Romney, might.
On the other hand, I don't know if I'd read too much into the double digit lead for Obama. Michigan's unemployment rate is 9%. Who do you think is home to answer phone calls from the pollsters in the middle of the day?

Three childhood behaviors of a potential serial killer (according to the FBI): 1) Excessive bed wetting 2) Setting fires 3) Torturing animals
Let's hope this little monster gets some good therapy now and a note in his police file for later.

Did anyone ever consider this billionaire is doing this on purpose? I don't know Kawamoto's life story, but perhaps it has been a lifelong dream from his youth to grow his wealth so that one day he could bring squalor and "needy" tenents to wealthy neighborhoods with multi-million dollar homes. I don't hold it against him, but I would understand him if this was his motivation.

Uh, bankers and other lenders. Ford and GM were unprofitable before the most recent downturn in sales. They'll need to borrow more money at higher interest rates just to stay out of bankruptcy.

I think that is part of the message behind the book. Physical looks are only good for grabbing initial attention and opening the dooor. Looks don't last for most women, but what does is the quality of the individual: manners, behavior, soul, etc. Men have less and less tolerance for bitchy, rotten, adolescent behavior the older a woman gets (and I have zero tolerance for it regardless how young or attractive a woman is), but a woman who is "good" is appreciated at any age and regardless of looks. Those women age gracefully and its something nice to watch happen.

Can they prove that one or both did this based on DNA?
I'm aware of a case in the U.S. where one twin brother had an airtight alibi for a rape he was suspected of, but he was a match for the DNA evidence. Turns out that his twin brother committed the crime and was later convicted for it.
Where this will be interesting is if one of these twins maintains he didn't participate. DNA evidence might not be sufficient on its own, so it will be up to the victim to identify her attacker or the other brother to rat.
My own 2 cents - the evidence favors the genetic explanation.

5.3 million people, 1.6 million firearms, 1 lunatic who abused Finland's liberal firearms laws. It's an anomaly and no reason to pass more gun control laws. The positives of firearm ownership outweigh the negatives, especially in First World countries that are importing large numbers of Third World immigrants. No mention of Switzerland? Everyone is armed there too.

To be fair, the media was biased for McCain during the Republican primaries once it became clear that Rudy the Brown Nosed Reindeer was going nowhere.
Regardless, it is going to be very amusing to watch the media reaction when their darling Obama gets smoked in a Republican landslide in November.

The real joy of this election is going to be who loses. If Obama loses, the blacks and "post-racial" liberals are going to go into fits. If McCain loses the Jews -especially the neo-cons- are going to have kittens. From my point of view, it is win-win.

I was wondering about that, too. How did she not make the Olympic team?

My friend, this is what is known as the will of the people. Pakistan is a deeply religious nation, so Musharraf could only do so much in trying to keep the lid on the boiling pot in that country. The geniuses in the West, especially the media, threw him under the bus for not doing enough. They traded in a Western-leaning military dictatorship for "democracy." What a bunch of fools. Democracy translates into mob rule. The mob in Pakistan is radical, Islamic, loves Osama and hates America. Wanna guess how this "democracy" solution is going to turn out? Take a look at the size of that crater.

Good. It serves South Africa right for backstabbing Rhodesia.
On the bright side, it is much more profitable for the West to economically exploit a Third World nation than an -ostensibly- First or Second World Nation. The rule of law, an educated middle class, a stable political system, all of these things get in the way of profit. It is much easier and cheaper to just fund some corrupt strong man's Swiss bank account and standing army. So, for the sake of Western corporations, "Let the rapist rule, let the rapist rule, let the rapist rule!"

Missing from this story is the report that several senior U.S. CIA agents were supposedly suspected of staying at the hotel and a tip-off to the terrorists is suspected. Not that the target wasn't juicy enough for Al Quada, but it reminds me of the time when the Iraqi's fired a rocket at the popular hotel in Baghdad that then U.S. Secretary of State, Paul Wolfowitz was staying in. They missed killing him by one floor. Too bad. Still, it goes to show that you can never completely trust the natives are not part of the local insurgency.
Travel tip: avoid staying at hotels frequented by Americans in nations tied up in this so-called war on terror.

I agree, he needs to be dragged to the Hague, just like Milosovic, and put on trial for as long as it takes until he dies in custody.
Oh wait, silly me, I forgot. New World Order goons of the USA and Europe aren't held up to the same standards of justice as is everyone else.

I believe Mendelev would have been more accurate if he had described Russia's defense of South Ossetia as being similar to the United States support of Texas vs. Mexico during the Texas war of independence.
The point if valid though. Russian citizens with Russian passports were being savagely attacked by short-sighted Georgian troops. If an expatriate colony of Americans in, say Panama, was suddenly besieged by Panamanian troops, do you think the United States wouldn't send in troops to defend them like they did in Grenada?
Good work Russia, the neo-cons are the enemies of all peoples everywhere. Someone has to put their paper tiger in its place.

American citizens need guns to protect themselves from the savages who commit all of these crimes. Unlike Brazil, Columbia, Guatemala, etc., the Americans do not have death squads to deal with the brazen criminal element.

Probably the only way to even make it even into the niche market is through a theme song in an anime series or movie. I don't see any way for a Japanese singer/musician/band to get sufficient media exposure to a wide market in the United States. The U.S. media goliath likes a monopoly so that it doesn't have to try very hard. The one chink in the armor is that anime is popular enough to be shown on several cable networks.

Try Ford and GM in the 2000's. The difference being that Toyota is succeeding while GM and Ford are failing. Many of Toyota's quality problems are due to their rapid expansion, including the need to source to local suppliers who don't have the same quality controls as Toyota's home suppliers.
The problems for Toyota's line workers are going to pale in comparison to those of their counterparts at Ford and GM, where benefits gained by the unions are being stripped and wages are being cut by 40% or more for new hires.
