This can happen. When I was in school, a classmate's step-father saw some critter in the yard (A deer I think) and ran out with his rifle to shoot it. The grass was wet, he slipped and fell and the gun went off and killed him. A really rough time for the kid. Firearms are definitely to be treated with caution and respect. I also worked with a guy who shot himself in the hand. He was mentally deranged (my assessment) and should have never been anywhere near a gun, but he was and he ended up discharging his gun right through the middle of his left hand while "cleaning" his weapon.

In the face and the neck? Poor girl. It's not the most painful death, but bleeding out is a tragic way to go, especially if she tried to stop the bleeding but couldn't. Well, looks like another problem that needs to be solved with the death penalty. Not too many problems that can't be solved with the death penalty.

If anyone can push the auto companies into bankruptcy, it is this administration and Nancy Pelosi. It is remarkable that the party that is supposed to be for the workers would impose restrictions on the auto companies that would make them less profitable and less able to get out of their hole. This would include their pressure to force the companies to build and sell more small cars, which make very little profit and electric vehicles which have never made any profit. And even hybrids are economic drag. Only Toyota's Prius is profitable and that is after years of losses in the beginning.
What should be noted, is that Ford is pulling itself out of the hole. Not by selling hybrids or small cars, but through increased sales of its F-series pickup truck - the company's bread and butter that brings in about 20% profit per vehicle. Under a Pelosi/Obama plan, this wouldn't be possible and Ford would be heading for liquidation.

I agree. Lincoln is an awful choice. Jackson, despite his flaws, would have been a better choice. He was able to keep the Union together without going to war and causing the death of hundreds of thousands of Americans.
But how in the hell does Bill Clinton make it to 15? His first two years of rule were so unbearable that he lost the Congress to the Republicans for the first time in 40 years and initiated the countries worst terrorist attack to date by allowing the murder of almost 90 women and children at Waco by a limp wristed government agency that was trying to get a budget boost.
And where is Jefferson? Where is Polk? Where is Madison?
You can already tell from his first few weeks that Obama is going to end up in the 30's or 40's.

All likely to be paid for by the taxpayers. The only thing funny about this human tragedy is that those taxpayers will be Californians. The state should sue the fertility clinic for malpractice to cover the costs of these kids and their needs, especially if some of them turn out handicapped.

Well, in China they have the death penalty incentive. My guess is that will prove a more effective incentive in the future than the profit incentive. Not so sure about America's "brief stint in prison" incentive.

Another bitter believer in the foolish theory of "Life's Lottery." Moe's looks are based upon her parents genetics, not some gift from a god or magic wishing pond. Attractive parents have attractive kids. If either of them have half a mind, she might be intelligent and the book might be interesting for those into autobiographies by models. Not me, of course. Still, give her credit for writing the book herself and not relying on a ghost writer (like Obama).

I think the outfit looks cute, but it also makes her look about 17, not 27. I guess that is a compliment for a girl closing in on 30, but not a turn-on. Happy Birthday.

Surprise, surprise, another witch hunt by the Catholic church. I will say one thing in defense of the bishop. If you don't believe Jews and Freemasons harbor a great deal of animosity towards the Catholic Church, then you are quite naive and ignorant of the last thousand years or so of the history of Western civilization.

I think some of you forget who butters Obama's bread. He is just as beholden to the Zionists and their money as Bush and Clinton were, perhaps even more so. Unless Khatami is willing to surrender all of Iran's national interests, there will be no change in relations between Iran and the USA.

Typical response by a career tax & spender. These California and New England Democrats have ruined their own states, now they want to spread their "solution" to the rest of the nation. And Obama knows this bill has pork and failure written all over it. You know, I actually feel bad for Obama, to be stuck in the party with the likes of Pelosi, Waxman and Fudgy the Whale (Barney Franks).

I don't see what the big rush is to sign this bill. The bulk of the $900 million doesn't get spent until the 2010-2012 period. This is another attempt to stampede the responsible members of Congress into signing a bad bill loaded with non-stimulus items like global warming studies and financing for green energy projects. This is a repeat of the $700 million dollar package that was rushed through in the fall.

That would be foolish. Drug use is still a crime. His lawyers and managers probably crafted the apology for him so that it would be as vague as possible, while still sounding sincere.
Still, Phelps definitely needs to do a little image control: pot smoking, drunk driving, Hip-hop listening, stripper dating. It doesn't befit a national sports hero who has to appeal to middle-aged, Midwestern women as well as the general male and youth audience. In other words, he has to satisfy the figure skating crowd as well as the X-games crowd.

Considering the bulk of this money doesn't get spent until 2010 or later, I don't really see any reason to rush this bill through, except to help avoid further scrutiny of the bill, which even some Democratic senators are saying doesn't spend enough on solving housing or immediately stimulating the economy in 2009. What came out of the Congress was a Democratic pork package that mostly provides aid to blue states that face massive deficits due to unrestrained spending.
That Obama had to go to the Governor of Vermont - one of the most liberal, embittered, class-conscious states in the United States, shows just how wide the gulf is between the majority of Republicans and what is in this bill. The Democrats control both houses of Congress, if they are so confident in their stimulus package, they should pass it over the Republicans, then take all of the credit -or blame- for what happens next. That they want bipartisan support shows what a stinker this "stimulus" bill is.

It might reveal the nature of the grievance. If the name is Chinese, it could be an expatriate with a any number of grievances: lack of free speech, confiscation of farmland for development, lack of religious freedom, Falung Gong, etc.
If the name is an English or European one, the shoe was probably thrown by a "Free Tibet" goofball with no legitimate stake in China.
Yes, probably a slap on the wrist, but if this had been the prime minister of Israel you can be certain the shoe chucker would face jail time and reeducation.
