I'm so tired of hearing about whales, whalers, watson and his band of merry eco-terrorists.

My feelings exactly. And I really don't understand the posters who can't admit that when an organization brags of having sunk 9 whaling ships over the years, they are eco-terrorists. Sea Shepard prefers the label "Pirates" both are criminals.

I am curious to know how many of the anti-whaling crowd are (ironically) pro-abortion. I suspect most anti-whalers are pro-choice. Not being a hypocrite, I am both pro-abortion and pro-whale killing.

Israeli’s prime minister threatened “harsh and disproportionate” retaliation

Does Israel practice any other sort of retaliation? I guess I'm still waiting for the "measured and moderate" response. I suppose we'll see that in a couple of weeks when Benjamin Netanyahu gets elected, right?

I was much more disappointed when I learned he was a big Hip-Hop fan. I'm more curious to know who the douche is who ratted Phelps out.

Anyone who has spent even 5 minutes reading what is in this so-called stimulus plan can see that it is a pigsty of pork with only about 20% devoted to solving the housing mess or stimulating the economy through projects like building more infrastructure. It seems to be more designed to bail-out irresponsible, loser states like California and Michigan than to help jump start the economy. It will fail and that's why the Republicans are not signing onto the bill, why the U.S. stock market tanked this week and why the American people aren't excited about it.

Obama can't be blamed for this bill - yet - but it is his responsibility to start kicking some ass in the Democratic Congress to get this thing right.

I wonder if credit is given to the real authors of the speeches, since Mr. "Yes We Can" can't seem to write most of his own speeches?

In developing countries there are very few opportunities for women to support themselves, outside the sex industry,

Have you ever been to the Third World. The only people that work in the Third World are the women. They're in the sweatshops, lugging crap to the market, planting in the fields - all while their worthless men are hanging around and drinking or playing dominoes. That's what makes the West and East Asia so special - a superior male work ethic.

Erdogan would have done the same if rockets fell on Istanbul every night.

Yes, because rockets fired into Istanbul might actually kill a large number of people and pose a legitimate threat. A month's worth of drunk driving deaths in Tel Aviv probably exceeds the entire death toll from rockets fired from Gaza.

I always thought the guy was a two-faced fraud. Dropped the ball? No, rather he picked up the bag of money. Another guy living in a mansion, mewing into the microphone about the plight of the working man. If he feels so guilty, Springsteen donate all of the Wal-Mart profits to charity.

Have to give them credit (sic!), at least they are trying to get themselves out of the mess, unlike the banks...

Don't be so naive. This is all about the Ford family maintaining control of the company and turning the dividend spigot back on for the family members. They own about 2% of the stock, but get over 40% of the voting shares. Do you think the Democrats would continue to let 2% owners run the company? And the dividend issue is a big factor. Very likely, any company that takes Federal money (GM, Citigroup, etc.) won't be allowed to start paying dividend again for several years or until the loans are paid back. If Ford were to take $9 billion, it would take at least five years to make that money back -should they ever get profitable. The family can't wait that long.

Nothing noble here. It is smart on the part of the Ford's to not get snared in the government's web, but it is not noble. Rather than protecting jobs or running the business with more liquidity, they'll abstain from taking loans, let GM suffer all of the government requirements. Then Ford will reap all of the same union concessions that GM gets out of its Faustian bargain.

    “You kill people.”

And you continue to steal more land and populate it with religious fanatics, even when your meal ticket, the USA, meekly asks you not to.

4,000+ American lives given in the Iraq War wasn't worth it to make the Middle East safe for Israel, especially when Israel shows no -NO- gratitude for the American sacrifice.

Let's just hope this is the beginning of the end of good relations between Turkey and Israel.

Good news for Toyota dealers (in the short run), bad news for Toyota as a whole, because this is another shot across the bow of the reputation for quality.

Not a big deal if they are doing it with the ulterior motive of practicing their English. It helps the tourists, improves the kids' English and encourages dialogue. I thought there was a service in Tokyo where tourists could even schedule an afternoon to sightsee with a volunteer native speaker, with the same trade-off benefit.

Just think. Eight or nine years ago most men would have switched places with Brad Pitt in a heartbeat. Not so much anymore. A crazy, demanding wife, no matter how attractive, is a fate all men should try to avoid -and she is the crazy one in the couple. In many circles, Pitt is now a laughing stock. He wanted children, well now he's got them in spades. And now that the ratio is 50:50, birth vs. adopted kids, you can bet Jolie will be pushing to adopt more to balance out the family so the birth kids don't have an unfair advantage.

Let's just hope they don't cry in front of the cameras -again- in Vancouver when the Americans kick their you know whats. You can be a pacifist nation and not be p*ssies. And let's hope that Mao Asada doesn't have to carry the entire Japanese Olympic team on her back either.

Good! The Third World has a terrible population growth problem and that problem tends to spill over into our world. Not only should we be providing free abortions, we should also be funding sterilization and implanted birth control - especially for women who aren't allowed any say in reproduction matters in Catholic and patriarchal societies.

Most foreign aid just aggravates problems in the Third World -like poverty, overpopulation and corruption - this aid actually solves a problem for once.

Two more problems for these small cars.

    1) They are usually nosier, more uncomfortable and have a terrible ride - meaning you feel every pothole and tar strip in the road.

    2) Have you seen the size of some Americans? A quarter of Americans can't even fit in these small cars and the suspension barely has the capacity to hold more than two of these fatties, let alone a family of them. Let alone their drive-thru take-out meal.

The crushing of these worldwide hopes is going to be even more amusing than the dashing of these hopes in America itself. This is mostly the Clinton administration all over again - just as Zionist, just as tied to Big Money, just as likely to use military force to enforce a so-called "humitarian" agenda, which is just a smoke screen for opening up markets by force to American investors and industry. Yes, the lazy elite in places like France will gel well with the new administration, but everyone else - from Russia to South America to Palestine can expect more of the same.

I agree, not a very flattering mask. Scary, looks more like a mask from an African civil war. Makes me think of the "change" Robert Mugabe has brought to Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, not the supposedly more positive change the world is supposedly expecting from Obama.

The kid is 18-years-old, she doesn't have any idea of what a bureaucratic screw-job the U.N. is or what obscene overhead the donation will prop up. As she gets older, she'll give her money to more legitimate organizations like Oxfam or Doctors without Borders, or the Red Swastika Society.
