All of those liberals burning heating oil and firewood to keep warm -leaving a greater global carbon footprint - now that their solar panels are caked with snow and ice and relatively worthless in the overcast skies.
Meanwhile the BBC will bury stories about abnormally cold weather like this and instead report on how it has been unseasonably warm in Moscow this winter.

Pointless. Like much of everything else in the United States, the activist is going after an empty, symbolic ritual when the battle to undermine America as a Christian nation was won a long, long time ago.

In Florida, endangered manatee gravitate toward the warmer lake water near the nuclear power plants (they use the lake water as a heat sink in the cooling loop). The power company's now probably couldn't permanently shut down the nuclear plants even if they wanted to. It would cause trauma to the manatees.

Actually, Mazda designed and engineered the Escape in Japan for Ford. The Tribute and the Escape are essentially the same vehicle with some trim and styling differences. It's very likely they re-badged those Escapes with Ford's blessing.

They don't want the illegal aliens back, so why would they want these fanatics back. This could have all been avoided if they had executed them on the battlefield rather than thinking they would be useful intelligence assets.

An iron fist they wouldn't have if it wasn't for the American taxpayer. Who is going to supply Israel's iron fist once the U.S. empire collapses under the weight of its entitlement system and military overreach? Bernie Madoff?
Oh yeah, and try showing a little gratitude to the U.S. for supplying that iron first.

The Ukraine, knowing it has the support of a neo-conservative American government (that is bitter it lost control of Russia), believes it is exempt from the rules of commerce. It believes it is entitled to subsidized natural gas and entitled to steal that gas if the Russians won't sell it at the price the Ukraine demands. What an impudent welfare mindset.
I expect Obama's administration to continue blind support of the Ukraine, so the solution is probably for the Ukraine to break-up like Chekloslavakia, preferably without a civil war.

I suppose Japan's gun laws will prevent accidental shootings when goofballs show up at people's doors wearing these things. On a different note, will Japan also be embracing Obama lawn jockeys?

The report neglects to mention that the $5,000 tax credit expires once a model sells so many units - which also accounts for the drop in the number of Prius sales.
I've driven Honda's earlier hybrid efforts and they were poor compared to the Prius. The Accord and Civic weren't "full" hybrids and the original Insight - while a decent hybrid - was small, "boomy" and lacked a lot of creature comforts the Prius did have. Hopefully Honda's new Insight has leapfrogged past efforts and will be a success.

Analysts say most of Chrysler’s products, especially its cars, don’t look, feel or drive as well as the competition’s.
This has always been Chrysler's business model: make a mediocre product with great styling and sell it at a price lower than the competition. It worked great in the 1990's and they made a lot of money, but it drove many Americans away from American cars (and into Japanese and Korean cars) for life. They essentially burned down the house.
They got very lucky when the Germans bought them and now Daimler has had the good fortune of unloading this poison toad on the hedge fund, Cerberus -which I find hilarious. Cerberus should eat the total cost of this failure, not the American tax payer.
As for the electric car, no one is going to make a penny off them. They are too expensive to build and there isn't a market or a charging infrastructure in place for them. It takes 8 hours to fill up the tank, guys, to get you 125 miles of range (if you drive with the A/C off and the windows rolled up). The only reason any effort is being put into electric cars again is to meet California emission mandates and placate a Congress that is completely ignorant of the technology. Fuel cell vehicles have failed (not viable or affordable for another 20 years) so the automotive companies are going back to electric vehicles - which failed in the mid-90's, but can at least meet some customer expectations if the government will subsidize the price by about $10,000 a vehicle.

Is this country a party to any international conventions or treaties that would restrict its wanton behavior? They certainly aren't part of the nuclear proliferation treaty. Sometimes I wish I were Israeli, then I'd be able to build up my own whaling fleet and be untouchable. Sea Shepard would send ships to harass us, we'd sink them and that would be the end of it. We might even sue Sea Shepard into bankruptcy using the courts in New York City.

elbudamexicano, it all depends upon Toyoda's professional grooming and his bloodline.
William Clay Ford is an example of how the genius and drive of the founder (Henry Ford, in this case) can be bred out of the genetics through bad breeding decisions. The Ford family even has "Hollywood" blood now.
He was not fit for the job from day 1 and relied too heavily on an executive management team that was not running the company with its long term survival in mind. Ford was also more concerned about creating a politically correct company with crap like free day care and employees doing volunteer work on the clock in the inner cities than he was in maintaining the profitability necessary to protect his company and his employees' jobs. The reward? The Ford family's wealth in company stock is down over 90%.
Hopefully, Toyoda will have the additional incentive of "saving face" and will not screw up like so many American dynasties have (especially the newspaper families).

Wrong. More bloody violence in America involving "minorities." In some states, like Arizona, you can carry a pistol in public without a permit -just as long as it is visible- and you don't see this kind of ignorant crime going on there. Not among the non-criminal element anyway. A wider ownership of firearms by decent citizens keeps the animals at bay until they can be safely housed in a prison or labor camp.
