"Daniel," I think the point dcog wants to make is that the people in Japan who have positive views of SK is more than double the number who have negative views. The same cannot be said of SK. Recently, more and more Japanese are hearing about this via the Internet / various media. I would not blame Japanese if they do not want to go to a country where they are not liked.

Actually there are a few, unfortunate TCKs who are not "native" level in either language they speak. Their pronunciation is perfect, their grammar is fine, and they can carry on a light conversation about most topics. However, they cannot handle business negotiations. I have a biracial friend (American / Japanese parents) and when she speaks English she sounds like a middle school student. Problem is, she's in her late 20s. I figured her first language was Japanese ... until I heard her speak it. It was worse.

Umm, what? This news was about the free program, not the short. By the way, this is the last competition of the year. He's done with skating till next season.

I recommend Kura-zushi. They keep their sushi clean and fresh with a plastic cover that pops up when you take the dish. Or you can order from the touch screen panel. The screen will flash a message that your order will arrive about 15 seconds before it comes. http://www.kura-corpo.co.jp/sendo/

umbrella, you keep saying the same thing in every post, that Japan is doomed and that 40% of the population are temporary staff. Do you have a link for that? I have a link showing that the rate of temp staff among men is under 20%, with the highest groups being the above 65 and below 24 groups. For the 35 to 54 group it's well under 10%. http://www2.ttcn.ne.jp/honkawa/3250.html

Yubaru is correct. Most cheap beers are in fact NOT happoushu. The only happoushu that is regularly sold is the Kirin Tanrei Nama, which actually tastes a lot better than most 3rd category beers, but definitely not as good as Kirin Lager. Kirin Nodogoshi Nama (3rd category) tastes like piss. The most drinkable 3rd category "liqueur beer" would be Mugi to Hoppu.

chuck3176, anti-korean protests everyday you say? Yes, the uyoku (extreme right group) have gone on a few marches in Shin Okubo and Shibuya spouting off hate speech as usual and you can easily find articles on that if you google "反韓デモ." However, you will also find that 有田芳生 (politician belonging to the Democratic Party of Japan) has called on them to stop their protests.

chuck3176, young people don't care? Really? Then why do elementary school children draw pictures of Koreans shooting Japanese or the whole Japanese archipelago on fire? You may not want to believe me, but pictures don't lie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0skE1rsspc

Not even pregnant women get priority seating during rush hour here.

My wife is 7 months pregnant. She never fails to get a seat on the Metro. It helps that she has the "I'm pregnant" keychain on her bag. They hand those out for free at the city office or any station. Love the posters, by the way.

sfjp, America had an all-star team. Ever heard of Braun? Former MVP. Dickey? He won 20 games last season. How about Vogelsong or Mauer? It's too bad they got injured, but they also had Wright and Teixeira. As for Verlander, he got knocked around in spring training and his ERA is over 4. As for Kershaw, he's also struggling and hitters are .288 against him. For Price it's .323.
