I think we all need to take a good, hard look in the mirror. Let's face it, do we always come to a complete stop at intersections with no traffic light? I'm guilty of doing the slow-down-but-not-stop thing that so many drivers do here. Cops need to start targeting narrow alleys and hand out more citations.

Wow cletus, that's quite a statement. I'm guessing you've never paid over 5000 yen for meat in Japan? Take a stroll over to Imahan in Asakusa.

It does not take 25 years to get your money back with a hybrid. Let's look at the Honda Fit Shuttle. The basic model is 1.6 million yen while the hybrid is 1.8 million. The basic model gets 15 km per liter, the hybrid gets 25. If you drive 10,000 km per year (6000 miles) and pay 150 yen per liter, you will get your money back in 5 years.

Smith, Hojo, I'm not a fan of Dice-K but he was an ace in 2008. He had the most wins (18) and the lowest ERA (2.90) out of all Boston starters. He also pitched and won a game in the World Series. He's been a dud ever since.

Kakukakushikajika, there will not be a long wait as you can only go if you have a reservation. If you don't have a reservation, you'll have to wait until the middle of July.

The father of the murdered woman was saying on TV that the victims are always named but the perpetrator is not if they are under 20. So true. They should put his name on the news so that he will never find proper employment and never live a life of comfort. Until then, his name is "kuzu."

I like the reserved seat system. You can go to a shopping mall, enjoy shopping, eat lunch, and watch a movie with a good seat guaranteed. I like the one at Lalaport in Toyosu. Quite clean and nice.

The Kurihara family rented out the islands to the US and they used it for bombing practice. Why didn't China complain about it then?

USNinJapan2, completely agree. I am also bilingual and sometimes Japanese friends ask me if I think in English and then translate into Japanese. My answer : I don't think in a language, I just think. They also asked me what language I dream in. I honestly don't know. I can understand both languages at the same level and I never have to turn a switch in my brain and say "OK, now I'm going to listen to Japanese" or vice versa.
