He is the first male figureskater who is actually quite macho compared to his peers.
I definitely agree with the above statement. He treats figureskating like a real sport instead of as a performance art. That is why he is one of the best.

The cushy University job are no longer safe either. The problems you are describing are now infesting the University system as well. Because Universities are hiring fewer full-time employees. Those who are have to find a new job after there contract expires a lot of the time.(2-5 yrs) Folks are starting to divide their time between several jobs to make ends meet. More and more long term folks are getting MEd. As more Master's Degree folks enter the scene it will only get worse. The secure jobs aren't there unless you move to Boondocks of Japan! That has been the trend.
The whole industry is in peril unless changes are made.
It appears crap floats upstream!

That is a good songwriter, not a good singer! You and Libchen both admit Beyonce is good singer. You also both admit Taylor Swift is not a good vocalist. Doesn't vocalist equal singer?

Three reasons why she won the Album of the year
1)Tapped into the teen market.
2)She is a cash cow.
3)Kanye West.
She is a mediocre singer and writer at best. Anyone seriously comparing her to the talents of Lady Ga Ga or even Beyonce Knowles are out of their mind. Her image helped her win "Album of the Year" nothing more.
Please tell again why is she a good singer? I given you reasons why she isn't good and why she won AOY.

To those who think I sound bitter.
I am not becuase it hasn't happened to me. It has happened to quite of few of my friends. The bad service provided by the Embassy was my personal experience.
For example, my friend's wife throughout their marriage had boyfriends the entire time. What was funny they were other foreigners. She just wanted a kid and security. She wanted someone to take care of her while she partied. Maybe because her family wouldn't do it. Especially when I told him she wasn't right from the start. Now he stays with her because he doesn't want to be a statistic and lose his child. No real relationship he takes care of her and she continues to step out on him. Sad!
My second friend and his wife's relationship before marriage was quite superficial. She would played the role of girlfriend but it wasn't authentic. My other friend wasn't even liked by his wife's family. The grandparents rationale for accepting him was "It would be nice to have grandchildren with blond hair and blue eyes." He is a Caucasian guy with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
See my point? Idiots!!

Yes, compared to other skaters with similar builds. Also the techniques was a little different during his time. Koss was talented but the way the sport has evolved might have not favored him as much as did way back when. How he would do against these current athletes would be interesting indeed.

It is also ironic that all those people can sing well acapella or with little or no music. So you continue to support my argument.

I think this sport is made for people with legs shorter than their torso. That type of physique is ideal for this sport. It could be one of the factors in their dominance.

You have yet to prove she is a good singer. Grammy awards have already be proven to be a false indicator of singing ability.
Now a great singer can sing without music or anything.(acapella) Taylor Swift has never done that. That is proof and examples why people have doubts about her singing ability.

That means she can't sing. If you are only suppose to sing in a good day then that sounds like "luck". A real singer can sing almost anytime, anywhere at the drop of a hat and sound good or better. That is why some people are OK, Good or Great. She doesn't fit any of them.

The Embassy in Tokyo is a joke and a waste of US money. In most instances, the Embassy gives very little help to Americans. When they do assist it often with an attitude, like "why are you bothering us today?" Can't you see we are busy having diplomatic party, sitting around and signing normal paperwork.
That is why most folks don't go to them for help. It is like the employees are similar to the majority of Eikawa teachers....useless.
