My relatives in Europe absolutely love the various Japanese toilet seat covers (especially in Winter). They cannot find them anywhere there. I think Kakiyama just might have found a niche. Time and the right promotion will tell.

Well, now that the US gov't owns General Motors one could only suspect that by roasting their competitors over an open fire they are trying to boost their own brand.

Stirfry, Cubicles? No, they all sit at the same huge table facing each other, computer or not. No privacy. I've never seen a cubicle in a Japanese company. That way no one can fall asleep without others noticing, therefore the products to relieve fatigue.

My neighbors wife died and he said in order to be given a really good new name (kanji) in Shinto heaven you have to pay the Shinto mafia a heap of money. The more money you pay the better name you get. Who makes up these rituals?

If japanese policemen on bicycles do not wear helmets then mothers and children won't wear them either. There needs to be a role model. I now see electric wheelchairs, adult tricycles as well as bicycles riding in the wrong (against traffic) direction. A third of the cyclists do not turn on lights at night. And a littler reflector (if any) does little good. I see not one public advert about bicycle safety on TV. Hello ?!

I'd like to see cyclists riding on the correct side of the street for a start. More use of helmets including children, infant passengers and police cyclists. More lights, reflectors and bright/contrasting clothing. Anyone know of a web link which state Japanese riding rules/etiquette ?

It's almost 2009 and Japan is just now getting 24/7 ATM access? It will be the end of the world when they get on-line banking.
