Oh my God. If a girl turned up in that thing, I would make a run for it.

    OssanAmerica,

Thanks for the information. I think that we can clearly see that this whale resents its trainers, captivity, and wants to be free and should be set free.

study shows that when little kids are nervous, they tend to have "accidents" while sleeping and wet their pants..

This is correct. When I toilet trained my child I made it a goal and provided incentives. Piling pressure on or bullying a child will result in a lot of accidents.

The official said women do not like using shared toilets as men sometimes leave the seat up.

and men don't like it when woman leave oodles of toilet paper and water strewn all over the floor or in other cases blood on the seat and on the toilet paper strewn all over the floor.

This is great. That means there will be men only toilets and I don't have to wait in line for 20 minutes while Oba-san conducts her business, and another 20 minutes while Megumi-san piles on the cosmetics.

Um, is it just me or does this sound like a rant from someone with very little idea and no kids? Kids do understand sexuality from around 3-4 years old and I find the practice of bathing wih kids quite repulsive and morally wrong. But, I am not Japanese and don't like manga either, hence very different moral values.

What nonsense. You must have a problem with kids and sexuality if you think this way. I shower with my son all the time and I make sure I wash every nook and cranny so that he does not get rashes. It never crossed my or his mind that there is something sexual about it. Its very normal.

Obviously there should be more details before we jump to conclusions. People here are assuming the worst and taking it as an opportunity to bash Japan. The kid may have collapsed, the man may have performed CPR (bruises), may have gone to the neighbors for help when he could not revive her.

Then again he may have beaten her up and drowned her. Things are not reported clearly at times but instead of bashing Japan and speculating about the mothers job and that the man destroyed and defiled the girl, lets be sad for the little one that she passed so early.

Once we get more details, then we can comment instead of speculate.

Why did not you show Kotooshu's wedding too?

He is just an Ozeki. They only make the news for drug offenses.

What my point is @ozellis is that I tried fighting for 2 years and it did not work.A bit. So I tried a different way which many people on here say is impossible. It is not.Just requires a different mindset and a different strategy.Instead of Tony Del Vecchio and others continuing to fight people and drag up stuff that happened 7 years ago etc they may perhaps want to try what has worked for me. Just trying to help mate and give some children a better life. All coins welcomely accepted

I agree but instead of wasting time fighting for 2 years I immediately went into the situation with an olive branch in one hand and a bit of cash in the other. That worked everything out fine.

    KyokoSmile:

First, did you send a new-year card to your child and to your ex-husband?

It is Japanese custom when you receive a card, you should also send one back, so if you are lucky you will receive a new years card next year with a picture of you child on it.

Second, did you try to send presents for your child at birthday time, and at Christmas time?

Third, is there something special, your ex-husband liked to eat or drink? Try to get it and send it to him as summer present.

Also there is a Japanese custom to send some gift in return.

Very wonderful advice. KyokoSmile, move slowly and perfectly towards your goal.

Can I hazard a guess that you also have friends that have split up but get access or if they did split up would have access or give access to the non custodial parent?

No, I don't associate with anyone socially in this position but I do associate with unbroken families often.

I cannot stand sloppiness. I never liked it at work when IT guys come in dressed like Kirk Cobain and I never liked it when at a formal event a guy walks in as if he spent the night on a park bench.

OK. I am starting to think that these situations are not usual. I can give two examples. I believe its all in the way people conducted themselves during the marriage and divorce.

My ex-wife lets me see our child whenever I want. I pay for his life of course and I see him 3 days a week. I get invited to all major events in his life. My JP GF also divorced with child lets the father see their son whenever he wants. He never pays a cent and he hardly shows up. She works hard and never asks him for money. He also never attends, nor ever has, any important date in the child's life. Never even changed a nappy.

Yet in these two contrasting situations access to the child is allowed and promoted. People have said to me in previous threads that my situation is unique and that I am lucky but lightening does not strike twice in the same place.

A lot of people tell one sided stories and make themselves out to be a victim to garner sympathy and support. A lot of people are out of touch with reality and can even justify their indiscretions to themselves without confessing to others how they have come apart. They just play the victim card.

I say any person who has divorced and lives in Japan should take a long hard look at them self and find the true reason behind their failure to keep a good relationship with someone they once loved and a child they still love.

She didn't come up with the line the stupid marketing department did.

Regardless, Its the perfect line for a 13 year old to use. Not stupid at all. She is not a sex object. She is just a teen. Teens hangout in cheap hamburger bars with each other. They have no money for anything else. Leave her alone some of you. She is not being exploited. Right age, right line.

Good luck to Dean and Noel. What he has said in both articles is true of the culture they have in their schools. I worked there when I first came to Japan and was probably a bit heckle and jyde as an employee due to not really liking teaching after 6 months at it. In a way I feel bad that I was hired for that reason.

They were good, honest, and patient with me through out. A few months later I found what I really wanted to do and am still at it, happily 2 years later. I am only sorry that I could not contribute more to their business at the time.

They have had audacious goals pursued in a cautious, sensible manner since I have known them. If you are happy to be an English teacher, and you give your heart to your job, Then DMA/SALA can most likely provide a future for you.

All I can recall is a happy management team pursuing a common goal and a tight group of students of whom some are still my friends, and business associates to this very day.

I say thank you to Dean and Noel for paving a way for my future in Japan. As for Dean, What he writes he lives and breathes as gospel. If any of you meet and talked with him, you would understand.

I am so happy to be surrounded by the smell of the hamburger.

Give her a break guys. She is just a teenager. Think back. The smell of hamburger bars when you start your independent life hanging out with your friends. Of course its one of the most important things for her.

If she was 25 and said the same thing, I would be in on the mocking.

I hope the warders give you the rubber hose treatment while you are in the can. Lets see you stay quiet when being violated scumbag.
