It must be very painful to be stabbed in the love triangle - especially with an ex-wife.

You are not going to believe this but I was walking with J-wife in kako-gawa on Sunday and made a joke about stealing the underwear that were hanging up by the side of the road. Just for the record, I didn't take them and I am not a policeman.

the space station is only 200 miles away and firmly in the grips of earth's gravity. 40 years ago they landed on the moon which is 240 000 miles away and then came back (apparently). It's hardly been a great leap forward has it.

i just watched the japanese players crying during their interview. i can understand the release of emotions for athletes who have made great sacrifices over the years and the tension is finally released. But curling doesn't quite fit into the olympics' "swifter, higher, stronger" philosophy and to cry simply because you are not good enough is a bit sad.

ratpack - looking after an elderly person especially with dementia is not just a full-time job - it is an around the clock job. As the son already had a full-time job, I agree with you that the son was probably both sick and tired from taking care of his parent.

Strangely enough, I found an old man with a knife sticking out of his chest near Kawasaki about this time last year. I called the ambulance but the J-cops arrived first. Can you imagine - a man with carving knife sticking out of his chest and a gaijin trying to explain the situation? I was prime suspect. Fortunately for me, the guy told the police it was self inflicted. I shudder to think what would have happened had he gotton a bit confused.
