Maybe they could say someone else packed their bags? Or, they got the turtles from a foreigner. That always seems to work here.

while no yank will even come close to hiroshima or nagasaki???

The US equivalent to Hiroshima or Nagasaki would be Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial, not Arlington.

Should be a good year then, with all those business types praying. Is there an equivalent shrine in Osaka?

There's a difference between a leader who simulates jerking off to 'improve morale' and a leader who turns a blind eye to someone else simulating jerking off to 'improve morale'. The main difference is, the leader who turns a blind eye is still employed.

I, too, wonder what the four-year selection process included: singing and dancing ability? The ability to look cute and smile? Body shape? (which would explain the wait for the 12 year-olds.)

    The important statement is:

    a nonworking prototype

which means all the 'it will have...' are subject to vaporware, hidden design problems, etc. If in June, when it is supposed to be available, it is actually available, we can check to see how many of the features (like HDMI) actually made it.

Being accused of murder indicates the husband died, but not mention of him being taken to a hospital to be declared dead. Is he? I think people in this island country should learn the word 'divorce' or 'separation' Maybe even 'separate vacations' before resorting to kerosene. Horrible way to die.

    goddog,

Actually, America gives billions to their own homeless/jobless/poor as well as other countries. That is one thing the Tea Partiers want to stop: government spending on the homeless.

Amerijap, when do you want to hear it?

How much is the cost of renting music from Sony vs buying music from anywhere else? It's a great business model, though. If you want to keep your music you have to pay for it again and again and again ....

They should've mentioned that Tachi and Kanda co-starred in a police TV show some decades ago so it's not just a random comment about a complete stranger.

I don't know if I'd feel comfortable living in a country where anyone who thought I was too radical reported me to the police. First, it would give the police way too much to do in sorting out which of us is the looney and second, my 'sane and rational thinking' might be somebody else's radical terrorism.

Never could figure out why the Japanese are so much into Hawaii.

What paulinusa said plus, if any Japanese politician tasked with improving tourism in Japan would care to look, the number of business people and clerks who speak Japanese and the number of signs in Japanese.

I guess what needs to be defined is the meaning of 'encourage'. My kids love the Santa Claus stories, the Tooth Fairy, et al but did I 'encourage' them? I gave them presents I signed Santa Claus and I slipped cash under their pillows in exchange for baby teeth. Is that what JapanToday calls encouragement?

protected by the weasels in the liberal media.

He was so well protected by the liberal media (like the weasels of Fox news, for example) we didn't find out about his affair, his love-child, or his billion dollar haircut. And the liberal media got him elected president. Oh, wait...
