So much wailing from the whaling fraternity.

No matter what twist they put on it, whaling under it's current guise will never be acceptable to most.

The wailers cry "not fair" at every opportunity, even to the point of seeking exclusion of a boat to a port of call for…

nigel - is that so? Glad to hear it because it must have changed in the not so long past.

Until that recent change, deaths occuring after 24 HOURS had passed were NOT attributed to road accident. A truly classic ONLY IN JAPAN.

And the tragic death of the little…

My daughter's teacher (elementary school) consistently works a 14 hour day at least 6 days a week. He is young(ish) and fit and enjoys the challenge. He is one of the best I've seen here and in Australia. But he is becoming worried now that he never sees his 2…

Hokkaidoguy - obviously you didn't read my post closely where I clearly stated that I DON'T disagree with you. That is DON'T with a big D DON'T. The Europeans are to be condemned.

Your claims of absurdity are noted and should help in reference to your own comment re smokers(???)…

hokkaidoguy - while I don't disagree with your sentiments, you didn't address the issue that Japan is greedy for bluefin.

Stating that they are Simply buying a product for sale means nothing.

Greediness from over-consumption(ie buying & eating) is not so difficult to comprehend.

    What a joke.

Japanese wrapping is the epitome of "mottainai".

Foreign media feeding on more of that "Zen and the art of....BS" practiced by 0.02% of the population.

    The wastage here is criminal.

unscrejects - "the right of Zimbabwe to defend it's sovereignty" or "the right of Mugabe to defend HIS sovereignty"???

I'm afraid with the vociferous opposition to his rule expressed by Zimbabweans, not other powers to be, he has no hallowed ground to proselytize from.

He is simply a malingering murderer…

hokkaidoguy - As the final end consumer of 80% of the world's bluefin it IS Japan's fault, partially in the least, for a display of sheer greed.

Tuna NEVER was a daily/weekly or even monthly food source for the Japanese. Traditionally it was a very selective market who consumed it…
