Sarge - define "done more"
You must be pretty young and naive to think America has not done its share of damage around the world. Anyway, Obama is not apologising for anything, he's trying to generate some goodwill so that America can be more effective. Or did you forget how much Bush weakened America's influence.

I like this guy. I have felt for years that the only people who are committed to this issue are the families involved. For the politicians it is just a vehicle to drive other issues.

When the right-wing and other assorted nuts give support to torture they throw their lot in with those who chant "Death to America". If America lowers itself to the values of its enemies, then it ceases to be America. Human rights, habius corpus, even the rule of law all suffered under Bush's misguided policies.

And by "other presidents" you mean Bush. Well, maybe FoxNews could start by treating Obama the same as it did Bush.
Obama hasn't been POTUS for a half a week and already the whiners are bring out their songbooks.

Chavez's challenge is kind of like challenging the sun to rise from the east. Is there any doubt that Obama's policy toward SA will differ from Bush's? Of course Venesuala is a whole other story.

Fine, let's go for justice. Where were these families when Bush decided that Bin Laden was not that important in his lame-pursuit of justice?
This is nothing but grandstanding but the day for that was about 5 years ago.
Gitmo does not have to stay open in order to serve justice.

If you don't want communism, then be a responsible capitalist and respect democracy. Obviously that has not happened for a while.

Sarge, you may be right. After all, look at how much experience the MBA president had in the business and political world before he became president. Obama has even less experience.

The only thing bizarre thing about this are reporters calling this bizarre. First, you got expect that maybe one or two Iraqis are unhappy with Bush. Second, throwing a shoe is considered one of the strongest acts of contempt in Iraq - I suppose killing someone would be the strongest act.
What is bizarre is how some in the media and many posters buy into the "Innocent George" hagiography as if to protect him from the taint of war. He gets to play C'nC, but really does not have to take responsibility.

Well why would you say that Sarge? Could it be the everyone with a pulse is saying so? Proclaiming that the sun rises from the east doesn't make one insightful.

WTF? What's with all these teachers, police officers and gov't officials assaulting underaged girls? And just as weird as all the posters blaming the girl for the assault.

Compare that with what Clinton left for Bush to play with in 2000.
And Tatanka and Sarge, you are a pair of dreamers! Where in the world did you think the money came from to pay for 2 poorly planned wars? War can be a bonanza if well planned, but wars are usually chaotic and very, very expensive. Your tut-tutting of Obama is a joke - and not a very funny one either.

What the ...? Only the paranoid would think that anyone planning an attack would say anything at all (or in plain spoken English) that would give the game away. And then add the fact that they were travelling as a family with young children.
Someone profiled the group and ruined everyone's holiday.
