WilliB the US government is criminally insane.
They gave up trying to catch bin Laben years ago, al Quaida has regrouped, and they started a war on false pretenses. It is quite a feat that the Bush Administration is so poorly regarded that Iran can even muster international sympathy if not outright support.
Criminality, it seems, knows no borders and has no political affiliation - as the Bush/Cheney duo have demonstrated and will no doubt try to display again with Iran.

"It would seem to me that the true beneficiaries of wars and conflicts is of course the media."
So what you are saying is that the Bush Administration is so weak that the media can start a war all by itself so it can sell more news. So Chaney's Desire to mix it up with Iran plays no part in this?
What drugs are you on?

Ahh, the beggar President is groping for a legacy again. All he did was shuffle the diplomatic deck chairs so that he could call it his legacy rather than Clinton's.
In sum, all he has done was trash Clinton, watch NK explode a nuclear device, then scramble for a legacy agreement that has left NK in a better position than when Bush claimed office in 2000.
What an absolute waste of office, prestige, and power. That is the legacy of this beggar president.

What Black said reminds me of Bush's trifecta quip right after 9-11. He saw the political value of terrorism and he has not averted his gaze ever since. Seems like some on McCain's team want to dip into that black well.

RedMeatKoolAid... Which country are you talking about? I suggest you keep on topic by referring to reality rather than what you dreamed about last night.
The Republicans may indeed have "freedom in mind", but that is where it often stays - just an idea or worse a concept to exploit for propaganda purposes. Where is the freedom for those bankrupt because of illness, or because of the sub-prime mess, or because of a lack of quality education?
As for being beholden to the Saudis, I should remind you that it was a Republican president who went hat in hand asking for a more favorable oil policy from the Saudis (oh yeah, then there was the hand holding...)
If you really do not want the Democrats to win office, then learn to function in the real world and perhaps real solutions may offer a way out.

So what Bush is saying that even though he sat on his hands for 7+ years (4 of which with a friendly congress) and did nothing, the Democrats are to blame.
What, did no one in the Bush Administration consider that fighting to wars in the M.E. would not affect oil prices? Or the rapidly expanding economies of China, India, and Brazil would not drive up prices as demand rose?
The best response they have is a political one that drives their agenda which has little connection to reality.

Sarge says, "Then why is Obama barely ahead or even with McBush, er, McCain in the polls?"
Define "barely ahead or even" because me thinks you might be a tad confused. Latest Newsweek poll has Obama ahead by 15%, other polls up by 5%.

skipthesong: why would the media obsess about Clinton now that she is out?
In other news: a couple American friends of mine were discussing the possibility that McCain won't be the Rebup. candidate. that he might step aside at the last minute to allow for a more dynamic candidate. This would be after Obama was taken down a notch or three and the Obama-shine fading.
Sounds a bit too fanciful to me, but does show a nervousness about the GOP. It aint over until it's over.

"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! There's only one way to drill her, sort to speak. The most erogenous part of a woman is her brain, not her actual sexual organ. You want her to orgasm? Go read a romance novel!"
Son, when you finally pop your own cherry, then come back and enlighten us on how technique does not matter. For once I agree with RR3. While reading to your partner may help set the mood, you need to be able to scratch her itch - so to speak. Good luck.

Sarge,
You actually think that an American court would set free one of the main planners of 9-11? Is your confidence in your own legal system that low?
As for the oft quoted "no attacks since 9-11" - you do not know if another approach (i.e. competently executed) would have had the same (or better) result.

Congats to my American friends. A ground breaking campaign by two intelligent and capable leaders: Omama and Clinton. I have not felt this good about America since Bush ran in 2000. What a difference elocution, diction and vocabulary can make in a loquacious speaker like Obama. Don't know what kind of leader he will end up being, but I am sure he is already helping America's reputation just by being a candidate.

RR, you are a wit by half. You talk with a false formality that underlies and underlines your cynicism. You and your ilk exaggerate perceived faults in Obama as a fig to hide the idea that you really do not want a person of color in the Oval Office.
Personally, I do not know if Obama can do what he wants and needs to do as a president. But after 8 years of Bush I cannot seem to trust what a conservative says. Bush's legacy of dividing what he set out to unify, I guess.
I worry more about the quality of democracy in America than by any individual. Thus far, I cannot say I have been reassured by much on either side - particularly on the right.

"Everyone knows that and almost everyone doesn't want that but when you have people forcing Obama down people's throats, the only way they have to react is by not voting for him."
Evidentially Bush was not that bad, if you are serious. Seems to me Americans are force fed their politics on a daily basis. Why single out Obama? Bad marketing?
Americans have not suffered enough if the reason they do not vote is because of expose and excitement. Turn off the TV for a couple of days and listen to something else. How about the BBC or the CBC and get your fill of PMs Brown and Harper.

Obama is half white! Why is it that Neocons overlook that fact? Not that it matters when. Bush and Cheney are all white and look at the mess they made.

RomeoRamenII said "a black Democrat president for the next 8 years obama's half black. Why is it liberals overlook that fact?"
If that is so important, then I would question most self-proclaimed whites about how white they really are. But it ain't all that important. I am more interested in how Obama (or McCain) would conduct themselves as president. Obama is young and that could either be a bonus or a failing, but McCain is beginning to sound like Bush 8 years ago ... and most people know how that turned out.

Yeah couldn't agree more. I don't know how many times my son scampered off while I was shopping. One 5 second lap would do it. Once we lost him for 2 minutes and that was the worst moment of my life. Fortunately he has grown out of that behaviour.

Zaphod, Jahdog, et al:
Translation: When he says what you want to hear, he is a great guy who tellst the truth. When doesn't say what you want to hear, he is "repeating administration lies".
Figures.
Again, what is amazing is to see the new hero of the democrats... Scott McLellan..."
Is that it? Like McCellan, you offer nothing new to say.
Very few believe McCellan because he said something. In fact most claim he has said nothing new in his book that has not been said before. Hardly a hero, but the sideshow is entertaining.
