Chinese government consider their national as a spare part of big machine. The government needs not whole personality of individual but a useful part of human.
I would like to call it fascism.

Chinese government doesn't need whole personality of individual but needs only their voice or face. The nationals are parts of the machine of great country.

The Japanese misunderstand themselves as a member of geopolitical West, although many of westerner don't consider the Japanese as their comrade. It's a unrequited love. (I'm a Japanese)

The word gaikujin was made by the government of Meiji era instead of nanbanjin in 19th century. The word nanbanjin contains meaning of barbarian. So, foreign ambassadors protested, and then Japanese government made the new word gaikokujin for formal word. This is the history of the word.
And, please note. This country had been closed to foreigners until 19th century. And, even in 20th century, 1945 is the first year that most of rural Japanese had seen foreigners.

First, I apologize to you as the Japanese. Second, I agree with Lamarr's opinion. Atmosphere of society of Japan is getting stiff and cold day by day. Everyone including me are irritable about something. Some people say that has been caused by the policy of former prime minister Koizumi. Koizumi and Mitarai who is leader of business circle had broken warm society of Japan. (Mitarai is also president of Canon). I expect government of LDP will break down.
