Another 'islamist' who is doing his duty fighting his brothers and killing innocents. The Taliban's Islamic paradise is truly one on par with the Nazi's paradise. I just hope the Islamic world doesn't just use the USA to do their dirty work like the Brits did with the Nazis.

[It's not at all hard to blame it on his predecessor; they are not the result of Obama being elected to top office. Now, if they want to blame Obama for lacking in solution over time, that's fine, but the start of the current woes are undeniably pre-Obama.]
Not in your mind anyway it's not hard. One day Richard you'll see past your Republican hating and everything will come clear.

["Reigning world bronze medalist] -- Reigning Bronze Medalist means the winner of the Bronze medal in case you can't read properly. Pretty poor reading. Must be due to teaching kiddie english too much.

[Geez... now that it's BROWN telling the Afghan leaders to clean things up, how are people going to blame it on Obama? :)]
Gee I don't know but miracles were certainly possible when it came to blaming everything under the sun on Bush.

[This was an attack on a military base by a lone shooter whose motives remain unclear despite all the speculation, so there is a bit of uncertainty as to what to call it. Hardly a case of PC for anyone not a fanatic.]
Unclear? Well I think that "Allah Akbar" sheds some light on it. Speculation it is but it's based on some facts. Your speculation that anyone expressing this opinion is a "fanatic" is more of a sensationalism than what is being said about this shooter.

[I'm thinking there was a failure of massive proportions throughout the chain of command because of blind subservience to the Political Correctness God.Pass the buck in the name of religious diversity and hope that things don't blow up in your face someday.] -- We'll be waiting for you to say this on the next Israel related story.
Tigermoth: very good post at 3:28am. Screw political correctness as pathat says in the quote above. Israel knows this and so do we. But some only know it when it's convenient.

[I agree with pathat that it's a shame investigators had to immediately release the name to the media and suggest there are possible terrorist ties, and not just leave it to the fact that the US is a multi-cultural nation,]
No it's just that they released the name of the individual responsible. Get over your own paranoia Richard.

Gee should Rome just destroy all symbols of Religion because someone doesn't like it? It's up to those who choose no religion to still respect the culture and origin of the place that was there. In North America they could also teach more about Aboriginal cultures as well. I wouldn't have a problem with stuff like that. I could opt for or against it in the curriculum if I had a choice. No skin off my back. If I were in Italy going to school I wouldn't care about what symbols were displayed in class as long as I wasn't being forced to become like that. As I wouldn't expect the class to give me special treatment because I'm different.

I'm going to go with thethudelh's comment. While not religious this sympbol has been there a lot longer. As long as the symbol isn't used to force people to be Catholic then there is no harm in it. For example while visiting friends in Canada I noticed that some places have a portrait of Queen Elizabeth 2nd up but when I ask do none of my Canadian friends feel anywhere near obliged to say they have any feelings that she is their Monarch. They merely see her as a traditional figure in that it was the British that originally fought and won the right to administer that land. And ask a native and they couldn't give a rat's butt either.

Yabits, I congratulate you on your great intuition of the nasty nasty world order the US of A is trying to impose on the peoples of the world. So maybe oil hasn't made your 3rd world country rich and you feel left out thinking somehow America has caused you some debt. This is proof that they are evil and deserve to be at war with Al Quaida. Is AQ at war with all those other countries that have companies that are also contracting to take oil from these poor poor countries? And I must really congratulate you on taking the upside down ice-cream cone crown from Smitty as our most "intellectual" poster. I'm sure he's wishing ol George could be back in office so he might have a chance at winning that crown back.

[Not my cup of tea because he's a corrupt fool who panders to whomever has the upper hand at the time.]
Based on your suspicions I suppose. And because he's a US friendly leader you obviously wouldn't like him. Prove he's corrupt and you may convince me but based on the "evidence" you like to babble on that you have I have yet to see it. You're only fooling yourself Richard!
[The majority of the population, living in rural and often isolated areas, associate themselves with their local tribe rather than a national identity. A central government to them was just another in a long series of outside interlopers who bring trouble.]
Another speaker for a whole country. It must be true if Yabits has dug it up.

[I DO, however, wonder about the 'suspected' foreigners. How do they know? Did they hear them speaking another language? Until I get more info, I won't believe it and will chalk it up to the usual excuse making and eagerness to blame foreigners for violent crime. If they WERE foreigners it's pretty clear they are of Asian descent;]
What kind of a twit statement is this? How do they know Smitty? Well they certainly weren't native japanese speakers and didn't fit the asian look I'd say that is unless they were some other kind of asian. But I DO, however want to say that it's pretty clear that because you think that they are of Asian descent that you must have some kind of prejudice for these people. This is of course IF THEY WERE FOREIGNERS!!

For once I can say good on the cops. They went right in. According to the article the fight wasn't going on when the cops arrived but there was obviously someone hurt. The 20 standing around escalated the situation by protecting a guilty party and an officer was assaulted. They were doing their job until these gaijin tried to cause more problems. And buggerlugs I'd go with they were British over any other English speaking country because that is your national character to drink and fight afterwards. BTW, what's a "septic tank" supposed to refer to? You Limey's sure have weird slang.
