Let's hope it's the end of Rampant Capitalism. The banks and bankers of the system have proved what a bunch of unregulated crooks they are. Do we really want to continue with this crazy system? Just yesterday it was announced that yet another financier, the billionaire Sir Alan Stanford, has been uncovered as the latest crook to cheat thousands out of millions of their savings and investments.

Yes, Britain is 'broken' socially. The stats speak for themselves. But, those in high positions haven't exactly set an example, have they? The British Royal family is broken. Three out of four of the royal siblings are divorced. Diana and Charles set a bad example of family, married life. Thatcher's son was arrested in Africa and has been barred from entering the USA. Her daughter, Carol Thatcher, recently referred to a black tennis player, insultingly, as a GolliWOG. Tony Blair's 'middle way' also set the tone for the present social mess. He called it 'Cool Britania.' Oh, yes, he managed to collect a nice property portfolio while he was PM.

Better that abortions are carried out in an an approved, hygenic environment than in some back street slum.

I guess the idea is to start off adult life with the aim of continuing in the right direction.

The reprecussions of Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip will have devastating consequences throughout the middle east and the rest of the world. I am very disheartned by President elect Obama's silence on the matter. Any president worth his salt would have condemmend the indiscriminate slaughter of so many innocent victims of the Israeli aggression. This does not bode well for the future.

The word offensive is offensive. Should read slaughter.

Matsuzakaya would have done their image a lot of good by distributing the unwanted, returned food products to the homeless. But, I guess this is Japan and charity shouldn't get in the way of profit, no matter how small.

And still WMDs have not been found; Bin Ladin is still at large, the economy is in the worst shape since the 1930s and Israel are being given a nod and a wink to continue slaughtering hundreds in the Gaza Strip with all the consequences that will emanate from it. What ever happened to the phrase: The Buck Stops Here?

The diet soda, low calorie food experiment has already been tested in the U.S. and proved a huge failure. One in three Americans are now officially obese, as opposed to being just overweight. Americans have been exposed to diet sodas and low calorie food information for years with no affect. In fact the reverse has happened. People have gained weight.

I'm sure belly dancing is a lot of fun and has strong cultural and ethnic roots, but it's not for me. I prefer the elegance of Fred Astair, Ginger Rogers and Gene Kelly, and even the exciting Irish troupe River Dance, thank you very much.

I've never really understood the attraction of watching, oggling wobbly bellies. Actually, it could be a sign of the times, what with the world economy in Belly-up mode. Perhaps the women will add a bit of confidence, boost to the Japnese economy.
buttamimiJan. 14, 2009 - 06:53AM JST
How ironic when one third of Americans have just been officially classified as Obese, not simply overweight, a trio of belly dancing Americans should be strutting their stuff on the world stage. Let's hope those who are suffering from obesity will take comfort in watching healthy bellies at work.

I guess Israel are going to take off the kid gloves and get serious about the continued slaughter of men, women and children in Gazza.
