the religion of peace strikes again....
There are plenty of muslims who are peaceful, but that's not what the koran teaches.
There may be muslims in Dearborn who protest, but they are a minority who have lost the battle for control of islamic dogma.
The fanatics are running amok. islam is going to have to reform itself or be labeled as pariah by civilized society. So far it's not going well, is it?

OK, usually I say that Japan is similar to other places. But this fascination with bras is rather unique. What is up with that?
In the meantime I'll just go with it and suggest that I am available to help with weeding.
Cute girl, too.

Copycat murders commited by the untreated insane? I agree completely. The tragedy is immense. It is very sad to hear about such abuse. But this seems to be a new thing in China. Or have we not been hearing about other events over the years?

IF he was a son it would appear to be a domestic dispute that continued in the bar. Probably one of the first generation of freeters told to get a job once too often.

Yeah, and that's what makes this really creepy. 20 years ago this type of stuff wasn't happening in Japan. Now there are all sorts of grotesque crimes coming to light. Maybe it's the access to the web? Dunno. But I expect this type of thing in Detroit. In Japan I don't.
I would like to see some stories about the perps being caught. If they exist.

The gf of a guy I knew in college wrecked his car trying to light a cigarette. Distracted driving will do that. Doesn't matter what the distraction is. The problem is that ANY voluntary distraction should be illegal. Probably are. But the offenders only get written up when they cause an accident. How could you enforce a ban? There aren't enough cops. But the revenue would probably pay big time....

lol, drop $200 just to argue on JT? You're right, not likely. I feel sorry for the guy and I hope he wins his suit in the US. But I highly doubt he's ever going to get his kids back. I just hope we don't get to read about their untimely demise at the hands of the ex here in Japan.

Monarchs are a waste of time. They might be good for cutting ribbons and patting orphans on the head but solving a crisis is really not something they can do...Thailand had one elected government thrown out by street protests and now the folks who were thrown out are trying to get back. Sounds like a good recipe for a civil war.

South Park rips on pretty much everybody in pop culture. But there is only one group that comedy central will cave in to. The message is that threats of violence work. The guys who run that islamic web site ought to be arrested for death threats. But they will go free and comedy central will kiss their butts rather than stand up for free speech. Pathetic.

He probably saw the thing running w/o a cop and decided to park it somewhere else just to prank the cop for being stupid. Too bad it didn't work out. Would have liked to have seen the cops face though. "Gee, I left it right here!"

They probably will. Might be a cool summer and a very cold winter. When Tambora blew up the NE USA had what is still remembered as "the year without a summer." There was snow in July.

You have to wonder what motivates people like Palin to make absolute fools of themselves over and over. She's like a TV preacher with a political message. Guess the fools making donations are the same though.

My understanding is that these guys will pop up in front of businesses whose owners they dislike for some reason or will "shake down" some businesses to not show up and disrupt commerce. I just ignore the idiots. They are "standing up" for Japan in a counterproductive method.

With the exception of wago beef isn't it all pretty much the same? Why not get a bunch of foodies and have a taste test? I'll be they can't tell the difference between the same cuts of beef from different countries.
