True. But since he was in the South he probably would have been shot if he started hitting people.

I like the idea of asking people to give choco outside of the office. It's kinda bad form to mix relationships at work. But it happens.
On the other hand this guy does enjoy chocolate. I keep a bag or two of the mini individually wrapped stuff in my desk drawer and when things get tense in the bullpen I'll walk around the area and offer a piece to everybody. Thirty second tension break and the chocolate helps. Especially since nobody can smoke any more.
Marketing ploy? Hey, I don't know who started valentine's day traditions but sure, the marketing folks have piled on. It's a cute custom in any case and uniquely Japanese. I like it.

This is just sad. What is it with the random attacks? From cutting girls hair to stabbings it's just plain weird.
Nigel, I'm sure Japan is still safer than some places but the random attacks seem to be increasing both in number and violence since the last economic downturn started.
Anybody have some data on this?

And the proof of that is where? On the website that claims that all towers have demolition charges in the basement perhaps? Because, as a systems engineer, I can tell you positively that this is not true.
Calling people looney might be considered offensive but spewing the drivel that the government helped the terrorists without providing any solid evidence or links is definately offensive. I once offered to fire a person working for me for spouting such crap. If you were in front of me now I'd offer the back of my hand.

Uh, chotto, the claim is that the docs were legit but the regime needed something to pin on him so they could lock him up. That can happen in places like Burma or NK.

I like it. Kind of cute, if you ask me. I always stock up on the HUGE Hershey's choco at the grocery in the US and bring a dozen or so back. The OLs love it.

Any large company is going to have powerful political connections. That Toyota's connections can no longer save them shows the extent of the problems that they've put into their cars. You have to wonder how much damage this is going to do to Toyota. I don't think they are going to recover this year; or next.

The latest is that Nationwide has disclosed that it told the NTSB and Toyota in 2006 that it was seeing and "uptick" in claims based on uncommanded acceleration. There is another, less researched, report that goes back to 2003. There was a topic introduced today on the FJ Cruiser forum about strange happenings with brakes.
I have no data to support any of the above but I can say that it's going to be a long year for Toyota. Reminds me of the Ford Pinto.
The other problem is that Toyota is lashing out at the American media. That's about the worst p/r mistake you can make.
Was it just last year Toyota passed GM for the largest market share in the US? Or 2008? What a debacle!

I really don't think that Cheney is going to go to London any time soon. It would be nice to have him explain himself but I imagine the testimony would go something like Blair's in any event.

In the UASF a full bird colonel is a high rank. Might be a middle rung elsewhere but it's up there in the air force.
I would have thought this guy would have had to pass a few psych profiles along the way but given what happened at Ft. Hood maybe those things aren't so thurough after all.

If you look at all the stuff big pharma and the insurance companies get in Obama's health care package you realize that they own all of DC, not just the republicans.
In the meantime it's now incumbant on the republicans to shut up and do something constructive. This is what they say they wanted. If they blow it there won't be much of a change in congress this fall.
I'd say "put your money where your mouth is" but we all know how that works in politics.
Am I being too cynical?

That's the dear little pipsqueak for you. His Chinese masters come to call and all he can do is prattle on about violence. I wish the Chinese would re-educate this guy. He's a bloody nuisance.
That would be progress.

After his behaviour it doesn't much matter if he went on his own or was pushed. He should knock off the booze and get a good shrink. Nobody likes a nasty drunk.
