I kinda sympathize with Toyota but they have bungled the customer relations job big time. The press loves a big juicy story especially with death and injury. Toyota was way late in getting the fix designed and getting it out with a good response to the customers.
Of course I'm still wondering how that CA cop managed to crash that car. There are so many ways out of the situation I can't figure out how it happened.

bah. The idea of Obama leading anything is starting to become laughable. The claim that he wants a bipartisan health bill is a con job. Obama is just the front man for the DNC. There is nothing there that a cardboard captain kirk couldn't provide.

I have to agree with bobbafett, experience is far better than passion. It's sort of the rephrase of "old age and treachery will overcome youth and enthusiasm." Best to leave the groping to the teenagers. As far as the sum of money is concerned I suppose if you have a rare commodity then you can ask a lot for it. But I'll save the cash, thanks.

Yep, blow up people on their way to worship. Nice religion. Makes you want to convert, doesn't it? Yeah, right.

Yep, bipartisanship at it's best. Things have been getting worse and Obama isn't showing any more leadership than I expect any longer. Unless a miracle occurs they will be at each other's throats right through November.

I've never understood why the J-guys aren't so interested in hanging with the kids but I think they are trying to do what society tells them is best for their kids - for them to work their butts off to be good providers. Perhaps after WWII that was necessary but now it's time to shift the balance back a bit.
I wonder how it was before the war? Anybody know?

Nobody can agree on the death toll, including most historians. That's just not going to happen. Give it up already.

It's difficult to counsel patience when people are injured and hungry but that has to be the course of action. This group and all other aid groups have to be scrupulous about following the law. If they don't they will only add to the chaos.
As far as foreign policy I think some of the blame has to lie with the residents. The UN has been trying to help Haiti for the better part of 20 years now, to seemingly no effect. You can't keep blaming the French or the USA. People have to be responsible for their own actions.

Yeah, the illegal dealers would loose volume. But just think of the killing the tobacco companies would make - they have experience in mass producing addictive substances.
Seriously, it is time to consider legalizing drugs and using the money left over from this "war on drugs" to advertise against drugs and helping the addicts. You can say that there will be more addicts but there will be less violence. There will be less money flowing into the pockets of criminals too. Plus tax revenue from the legal drug trade.
This war has proven to be unwinnable - just like prohibition in the 1930s. Time to change tactics.

Even if the car is stolen one might hope that some fingerprints were left behind. A pity people were killed. You wonder what level of brain activity passes for intellegence in some people.

The Chinese should realize that with NK busy being belligerent and China doing nothing to stop them everybody else is thinking that they need to be able to defend themselves from foreign threats. Maybe if the Chinese were seen as actively promoting regional security the neighbors would be less worried....

please don't plead - LEAD
I'm not confident that Obama has the brass to lead.
Bipartisan negotiations might get some decent bills through congress but Pelosi and Reid are hell bent on a left wing agenda. Obama is more like their lap dog than leader. So I expect nothing will be accomplished.

He quit on closing gitmo. He quit on dealing with Iran. He quit on the six party talks. He quit on CO2 reduction. He has pretty well quit on health care. Not that he was leading in the first place. Maybe that's it? Since Obama wasn't leading anyway you can't blame him for the failures? Guess we're back to blaming Bush, eh?
