All those who are saying that banning guns is going to reduce the number of guns on the street should take a hard look at the history of prohibition in the US and the bans on drugs around the world in general. Banning something really doesn't affect the availability to people who want the banned item.

Banning things might seem to be far easier than reforming society but, in the long run, bans accomplish very little.

I think the cops have done a pretty good job with this one. One more perv off the streets.

Yelnats, I don't think rehab is what the judges are going to have in mind for this creep.

I suppose everybody gets up to something once in a while but Tiger is a serial philanderer who was busy promoting himself as a model citizen. There's always a bigger mess with a longer fall. Especially when there's that much mess to start with.

If this was a dog and a fire hydrant I'd say "so what" but this guy needs some serious psych evaluation.

You guys are funny in Japan, this would never be news in the US

I dunno, Tiger got beaten by his wife with a three iron and they are still talking about it....what mistress are they up to now?

That's what happens when you are a celebrity!

I enjoy just going around Tokyo and enjoying the people but I zip to Hakone when the crowds get to be too much.

    Thanks DenDon, I needed that...

I used to play Everquest to all hours of the morning until I realized I was paying them to do factory work. I killed the monster, I killed the monster, .... It got boring.

Maybe some people get addicted, some people don't. This attitude of banning everything that might just offend somebody or possibly do somebody harm is just nuts.

I'm rather curious just what "legal action" the Aussies could take? What would the penalties be? Everybody knows that the "scientific" loophole was put into the treaty for countries like Japan to exploit but it was necessary to get a treaty that protected the severely threatened species. I don't think the Aussies have a legal leg to stand on and the Japanese know it.

Gamblers are dumb. Except, of course, those who win big...

Sarge, you might have a "typo excuse" except that gamers don't "win big." Only gamblers do. Rarely. So fess up that you blew it. We'll all mock you anyway.

Gamers just play games until their friends are gone, job is lost and brain is fried. There's no possibility of a big payout.

Sheesh. The no smoking crowd is up to their peculiar "I know better than you do and I think you're disgusting" attitude and now the "I'll smoke when I wanna" crowd is getting stupid. I don't smoke but I'm not afraid of second hand smoke and I find the people who are rather annoying. There are plenty of ways to die and your more likely to get the swine than cancer from smoke. Lighten up a little, everybody!

Maybe they are sexting. But at least they won't get ill or pregnant that way. When I think of the things we got up to - in this day and age it would be trouble.

And yeah, it's been going on for ages. Maybe technology helps but the prudes aren't going to stop it.

Can't agree. The data shows that the trend is up and the cooling seen is within the limits of error of the data. So things are warming up. You can argue how much of this is due to man's impact or natural cycle and there is plenty of room for discussion about "can we stop or even reverse warming?" but things are getting warmer.

They should bring back the stocks and public humiliation as punishments. I'd like to see a loser like this chained up by the main entrance to Shinjuku station (or maybe the station closest to the victim's home?) for a Saturday. Bring your rotten veggies!

Yeah, the whole bin Laden thing is a bit sad. Better to not worry about it and get on with the real job of keeping the civilians safe in Afghanistan.

I can't imagine a religion that subjegates women, preaches death to infidels and kills it's own adherents as "perfectly good." I think it's been rotten since day one. Certainly isn't improving itself lately.

That's cool but probably too few prizes. I imagine every expat here would want to bring some friends over for a week if it wasn't so expensive to get half way around the world.

What's the difference between a golf ball and a car?

Tiger can drive a golf ball 300 yards and not hit a tree....

Tiger makes his money by being in the public eye. That's the problem with being a celebrity, you can't turn it off when you do something stupid. It's starting to look like Tiger was serially stupid though. He could retire and take his family off to some island but I doubt he will.

I don't really care about how this turns out but all this crying that Tiger doesn't deserve the publicity? That's how he makes his money!

This tiger is a cheetah. I wonder if he uses a foot wedge too?

This "body count" scorekeeping really bugs me. It's far to simplistic and usually very misleading as to what is really going on. Besides, simply killing people isn't the point, is it?
