House arrest is too good for him because for him it would be "mansion arrest" - complete with jacuzzi, home cinema and waterbed.
This guy really committed a serious crime - not only was the victim underaged, but 13 years old, quite a bit underaged. And he performed sodomy on her which was probably unlubricated and quite painful.
I expect though in the US he'll only get a couple of months jail time. I only hope there he'll get to experience unlubricated sodomy himself, as receiver rather than giver.

It seems these guys get a thrill from doing something illegal, like some couples get a thrill out of doing it in public. It must be some kind of adrenaline rush for them, and they become addicted to it. These guys need help to break their addiction.

There was a rumour that Nova could get the best branch locations near stations because the yakuza owned those buildings and Sahashi did a deal with them whereby in exchange for the office space he would use their subsidiary companies to buy furniture and indoor plants at incredibly inflated prices. Even if it's not true, this news story shows Sahashi was doing something with the yakuza.

Sorry, accidentally posted twice.
2020 hindsight: I'm sure most people are fine bungee jumping, but because of the sudden increase in blood pressure to the head eye damage is possible. All sports carry their dangers, I guess bungee jumping is not different ("bunjee jumping" is rather long, how about we just shorten it to "BJing" instead?)

Just be aware that bungee jumping has risks of injury, such as eye trauma, rope burn, uterine prolapse (in women), dislocations, bruises, whiplash, pinched fingers and back injury (thanks to wikipedia for this info).

You'd think in high-tech Japan they'd install video cameras on the trains looking ahead of the train. If they had then they could've released an image of the two "persons" wanted for questioning.

I'd do the same thing and just give him the money. Why? Well...
1 It's not my money (it's not like it's going to come out of my salary)
2 I don't get paid to possibly get stabbed.
3 The police get paid to possibly get stabbed. Let them handle it.

Nowhere does it say he cheated her by only paying half price. Maybe he only offered her 15000 yen in the first place.
Anyway these dentists are quite wealthy. I know one and while I have never asked about his salary, I'm always surprised to hear how often he takes his family on overseas vacations. For someone like him 15000 yen for an oral check would be small change.
