I wonder how much maintenance the machine needs. I think the treadmills you see in gyms are about 10 times the price and even they need regular maintenance.

I think those teachers would be nervous starting out, knowing that their lessons are being recorded. But I wonder if it defends them from trivial or untruthful complaints.
I note that nowhere does it say the teachers have teaching qualifications, and it seems this is typical of the English conversation field.
Finally I'm surprised they are teaching French. I would have thought Chinese was more popular.

Ha ha...I love the way they have to put some Japanese celebrity in the mix, and often with the most obscure connection to the films.

"I noticed that my chronically stiff shoulders were also noticeably looser"
I think you could improve your shoulders by exercising those muscles, that would help them to relax. Also sitting posture is important.

Why the older hosts? Simple. It's demographics. Due to the baby boom, most housewives are over 50, so they prefer older hosts closer to their generation.
By the way, Tamori wears the sunglasses because he has an eye condition that requires him to wear them so he can avoid bright light, not because he wants to look cool. If you want to look cool, you have to wear them on your forehead like that Tokoro George fella.

My wife likes Neppu League but loves Hexagon, and tapes them each week. She often likes to watch the recorded Hexagon a few times over. For me of course both quiz show questions are very hard as they require knowledge of history and knowledge of Japanese idioms that I lack. It's true that Hexagon has some very dumb people on it and the question is are they really that dumb or are they just faking it? Either way it's giving young people a bad role model - kind of like saying "hey I'm dumb but look at me, I'm on TV and making big bucks so you don't need school". To be fair, some of the cast on Hexagon are really good at answering the questions, Lasaar for example. The host Shimada Shinsuke is also very quick at making jokes and is entertaining.
In many countries there is a version of the TV show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" Japan conspicuously doesn't have a version of the show, but with shows like Hexagon which give the contestants 5th grade maths questions, there's not need for such a show.

This is so funny, for so many reasons:
1 She doesn't smile in the picture. Where is that "happy-to-be-serving-you" smile?
2 The "best part" of being a maid is the "other maids" because they are "young and very cute". Seems she likes women, not men. Which is a strange choice for a maid as they have to appeal to men.
3 In the last part she is basically saying "don't come here, this is the last place you want to be". Good promotion for her cafe, no?
