I'm not necessarily doubting Mr Izumi's statement, but he should definitely get a video camera and record how close they come to his house, as well as the ensuing vibration. Encourage others to do the same, and upload it all to Youtube or somewhere similar. Then there'll be proof instead of words.

What a surreal story, very rare to experience. I guess the apartment is now "cursed" so the rent would be dirt cheap. Would any of you readers live there if you were apartment hunting? I'm not superstitious so I'd have no qualms about moving in.

We need to encourage older people to cycle more, like in Japan. That way they can still have some independence after quitting driving (i.e. go down the street to go shopping etc). It's also good for their health. Taking the bus just helps speed up their ageing process.
