Campaigning? Forget the pathetic cries of it being bad for business - why not pass smoke-free laws and then ENFORCE them as part of an 'anti-cancer' plan ? Sadly, it seems that doing the greater good for the health society as a whole carries a stigma of its own.

ditto darkbob: reading it now - amazing how it lifts the fog and clarifies all the paralysis surrounding decision making, systemic wastage and vested interests in Japan.
Initially, I thought it may have been too dated (written in the late 80s) to be relevant today... but sadly, it only serves to amplify that so little has changed.

this guy has the right to smoke but not to do so in non-smoking areas or to harm the health of others. somebody please recall cigarettes... the conductor blew the whistle and asked someone to do the right thing, hats off to him.
