Well actually those specific comments were not made in relation to racism, but you could tie it in. Did you see it? Did you actually see this footage and are thus qualified to comment?

I'm not American. Your taunts are irrelevant to me. USA can win more. They've won enough already and I don't think one medal carries as much weight as it does in sportsmanshipless Japan.

If I what?
My beef is with racist Japan, it has little to do with the US but more to do with the rest of the world.

This country doesn't know how pathetic it is. This morning they were comparing the softball teams success to other inspiring moments in Olympic history - a dehydrated marathon runner limping down the straight; a man from a country with no swimming history and had only started swimming a year before...then the morning crews were clapping at footage of the baton drops, that's some nice sportsmanship. And why did they drop it? Because those countries are too individualistic and aim for individual glory, that's why. Then they compared the Americans (with accompanying illustration) to ferocious big bears, and the Japanese to monkeys. Yes they compared themselves to monkeys. Cos Japanese are small but clever.
some14some once again you are on the money. Japan is absolutely desperate for sporting success after being battened down repeatedly in most events over many years, and with their inferiority complex they resort to spewing absolute we-Japanese nonsense and have some kind of superiority complex.

There is no way this case would have come to light if it was a local wrestler. Story would have finished with the gear disposed of (in one way or another) by the head useless person at the police box, and with him having a quiet word with the local boy and his stable master, and it's not unreasonable to say this hasn't happened before.
Having said that and sorry to say this, but Wakanoho is an idiot for not foreseeing the consequences of a foreigner (not to mention wrestler) being caught smoking marijuana in Japan.

Ossan, I'll field this one. It was in reference to a commercial she's in (haven't noticed what the product is however). At any rate, a teenage boy is in front of the fan on a hot summer day and two Maki's come in with icecreams and ask him to hug her. Flash back to reality and his mum is holding up two icecreams. It's probably an icecream commercial. That or a government-sponsored advertisement encouraging people to sweat like they've never sweated before in one of Japan's beautiful seasons.

If only two of them would appear...arienai!!
Anyway,
Ah yes some difficulties might arise, if one is not completely indifferent to one's family members.

'misunderstood' - sounds like the the same old excuse the Japanese trot out when they don't want to address an issue pointed out by a non-Japanese.
Look at the attempt to skew here
We're not talking about Tanaka salarydrone as he makes his 90 minute commute in a 180% capacity train.

Hey heading down rapidly like Japan in general.
But it does wonders for liability coverage. Plus I think the air cushion in the middle will keep the helmet in one piece.

Cheers KissMint. A bit more info to supplement the outline article provided above. Yeah a pipe was found. Also says the cops waited for him to finish the summer tour before they charged him. (Don't rock the boat, but don't wait too long, get it in there before the Olympics ends I say).
Also he was 19 and so a minor back in June. Usually they don't release their names of minors (even if they're 20 now but underage at the time of the incident), but this case has 'implications for society at large' so they made an exception and published his foreigner name. I'm sure the wacky tobacky and story would never have existed if it were a local boy. But then again, they don't, never have and would never even consider doing that kind of thing.

Good point some14some. Your one-liners are often right on the mark. Wakanoho lost his wallet in June. They've been saving this story. Medal rush has turned into the medal hush so let's bring up drugs and how all foreigners use them and get people murmuring about that. This is how the rest of the world wins their medals.
Get real JT. Trying to sensationalise this much? Russian? You mean foreigner? Sumo star? What a joke. Asashoryu, Hakuho, Kotooshu and Ama are stars. The Russian is a new kid on the block and had an apalling tournament last month. Arrested in Japan? You mean where he lives and most of the news here is about?
The article then goes on to talk about Asa; unwritten truth is many Japanese fans have made it clear that they have little patience with foreign wrestlers, and have lost interest in their national sport and focused their myopia elsewhere. Also did you know that Wakanoho was also late one day for his appearance on the summer tour this year?
So play the foreign transgression drama and play it loud. Everybody knows that when you have an in-house issue it's dealt with a lot quieter and is suddenly understandable and forgiveable for We Japanese.

No really, where is the story on cops snooping through the Russian's wallet? This happened back in June, you could pretty much bet on this story never making the light of day if said wrestler were Japanese.
Incidentally, I once lost my wallet in a similar fashion. But they didn't rummage through it, cos I'm not a foreigner dominating the local sport. Not that Wakanoho is dominating himself specifically, but foreigners are, and well everybody is lumped in to that outside basket. Still all one has to do is mention the bashing and death of the teenager, and a little perspective is restored.
