I hope the nenkin system gets fixed... otherwise people are going to have to work until they're 80.

What is all this talk about "glancing over the shoulder" to confirm for oncoming vehicles? Yes Japan has many roads where no dedicated sidewalk are available... in this case you walk right along the edge... not in the middle of the road! A visually impaired or blind pedestrian would do…

Why not just have the cars emit a foul (environmentally friendly) odor? The blind can smell their way clear with no additional noise pollution. But seriously I don't get this "problem"... when do the blind have the need to hear if a vehicle is in their vicinity? I presume they…

    Legal loopholes are evident elsewhere...

Gambling is illegal... yet pachinko parlors are everywhere, you win junk... take the junk across the street to the affiliated store, exchange it for cash.

Prostitution is illegal... yet soap land is everywhere... "oh its not prostitution if its happens consensually"...

    Loopholes can be blocked…

Tipping is a joke... what exactly does "give great service" mean anyway? Shouldn't great service be included as a job requirement? Do they become my employee as soon as I enter the restaurant/taxi? meaning I have to subsidize their wage? Can I fire them if the service is bad?? "Give…

Rocky shores are extremely dangerous; slippery surface, deep water, strong currents and sharp rocky edges...even a competent swimmer can easily get in trouble there. Seasoned fishermen often get killed fishing off rocks every year... the kids shouldn't have been there, neither the mother. May the brave mother RIP - at…

Doesn't look as good as the original PS3 though... I'll stick to my BIG PS3 - I still play a lot of PS2 games which the slim doesn't support.

Crimsonsil, craigslist is not bad either for secondhand PS3 software/hardware.

Got to love the police theory that this one guy is responsible for ALL the unsolved bag snatching cases in Tokyo and Kanagawa.... nice way to close off 120 unsolved cases. I'm sure they'll get a confession out of him one way or another.
