Why the hell didn't they remove the spoilt, bratty sh!ts who were causing all this strife in the first place, not the victims. I'm sick to death of this sodding incompetence in schools / the country in general to either acknowledge there's a problem, or even if that first mighty hurdle is cleared, the decent way to go about solving it.

No doubt this'll be treated as murder by the police, not as a deeper serious social/welfare/mental-related issue which it is.
Sad case all round. I hope the woman is given all the help she needs, and people face up to the fact that there is in fact a problem here.

Everyone else... I don't know this case fully enough, but 'if' he was in on flimsy evidence, then his release seems ok to me.

To be fair, it could be the case that they tried, but the judge / judicial process was being stupidly slow as usual, thus their hands were tied. So if they went to arrest the sh*t, he would've claimed what they did was illegal etc, and in all likelyhood not been able be arrested at all.

Well, whatever rehab scheme we should put them on, they need to be punished, whether they need help or not. You don't get to stuff like that and get away with it, although this is Japan...
But I agree, it is a complete breakdown in society, I mean, rape I accept as a sad fact of life, but when your OWN FAMILY is involved, it takes on a whole new meaning of the word 'sick', esepcially when it's in a supposedly developed nation like Japan.
