Details are sketchy at best:
http://www.francajapan.org/index.php/Main_Page
Doesn't seem to list how many members but does include a place to send money to.
Meeting minutes from last year show that about 12 people met in Shibuya while 16 or so gathered in Sendai. The mailing list is said to be sent to about 45 people.
Of the 2 Million+ foreigners in Japan, not a whole big percentage of the foreign population here.

Jonathan Sherr looks spookily similar to Tony Lazlo.

I can't comment on Mr. Sherr's acting ability or lack of the same.

I don't believe it is specified. Debito doesn't believe there are people in the world with the last name of "James" so Harry James (bandleader) and Jesse James (bank robber) are just figments of some deranged imagination.

I suppose some would consider "hybrid" out of the question...

Ummm...taxi fares have INCREASED over recent years. Things are tough all over.
When companies started restructuring, the old guys needed to find work. Taxi driving was probably the easiest thing they could do which didn't require a lot of retraining. However, it meant a flood of inexperienced people driving around areas they didn't know trying to make a few yen in order to feed their families.
Time was, a taxi driver could find anywhere with only a minimum amount of an address and be able to find every back road and narrow alleyway to get to it. Now, not so much.

Ummm...What? When was the last time you were in a taxi? I personally can't remember being in a taxi recently that did NOT have a navigation system.

Matumura Kunihiro has the shortest record for a showbiz marriage. He married in the morning and divorced the same day that afternoon.
Granted, it was part of a TV show bit and done to see if it could be done but he is considred to have been legally married and legally divorced.

It's a shame that all those people on Pan Am Flight 109 didn't get to go home to die.

Would you really want to see him dress like most other enka singers? A kimono, perhaps? Some of the sparkly suits that the big boys in enka wear would probably make him look like a pimp. And the less said about Hikawa Kiyoshi's fashion choices, the better.

I have heard that he is going up against Koizumi Junior. Going to be a bit of an up hill battle no matter which way the wind is blowing against the LDP.

Bon dance tends to go around and around in a circle.
Awa dance tends to go in a straight line.
The hats are supposed to represent chickens (or some other kind of bird) I think.

Tokushima is in eastern Shikoku. It is connected to Awaji Shima via the Naruto Ohashi so you can get there by driving from Akashi, west of Kobe, after crossing the Akashi Ohashi and going around Awaji Shima. Buses should be available.
There are also ferries from Kobe, Osaka, and Wakayama.
There is also Tokushima Airport which should be reachable from most main hubs like Haneda to Tokyo, etc.
As I stated elsewhere, keep in mind that Tokushima is HOT in August! If you are going to go, better hurry. You might have problems finding a place to stay as it is fairly packed. Definately a fun matsuri.

Ummm...saying that "Japan’s high school baseball tournament has produced major league stars ..." is kind of silly.
All three examples played in the NPB leagues for several years before going off to MLB.
It would be better to say: "Major league stars Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideki Matsui and Ichiro Suzuki have all appeared in Japan's high school baseball tournament."
