Wikipedia says he was Married in Feb 2007 and they welcomed their first daughter in May of 2007 (when he was raised to Yokozuna.) Don't think I need to use 2 hands to count how many months that was. A son was born Sept 2008.
So they probably registered and then put off the actual ceremony for a while.

PHS does have great sound quality and their early problems of not being able to hand off to the next antenna if you are going above walking speed is long since a thing of the past. It would be a shame if it were to go away.

Foreigners only make up about 1.7% of the population.

pawatan,
You will be able to get a physical keyboard as an option. Won't be attached, though which is probably what you are after. I am wondering if the camera connection kit for SD cards will work with an iPhone.

As expected, not available internationally on the first release. It is going to be a while.
Agree about the lack of free Wi-FI in Tokyo. Probably needs a built in web camera.
I would love to have one of these but I can easily get by without it with my iPhone and Mac Book Pro. Though that price is VERY tempting. My daughter's birthday is coming up and I am sure she would love one. Maybe I can use that as an excuse. Ah, but they are still not available here in Japan.

I find it unlikely that they would play more than one game if it was just the US and Japan. The Asia series got cut to one game this year.

On my most recent encounter, I was coming home from the park on my bike. On the way home, the right winger nuts were out in force with their loud speakers, yelling at a politician. The police were out in force as well to make sure things didn't get out of hand.
I stopped my bike in front of a young constable and had a conversation (in the local patois) along the lines of:
Me: Excuse me, what are they whinging about?
Constable: Well, as you can hear, they are up in arms about the usual.
M: Anything you can do about it? They are being a public nuisance!
C: Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do if all they are doing is yelling.
M: Well, I will allow that they are allowed to exercise their right to free speech but I wish they would do it quietly. Have a good day!
C: You, too!
And off I went on my bike.
Reading sites like Debito's only seems to promote unneccessary paranoia. Like michaelqtodd said, most of the boys (and girls) in blue are just doing their jobs. Sure, there are @$$holes in uniform, but there are probably a larger number of troublemakers (both foreign and native) that give more grief than they actually get. A number of people on this board are proving that.

I would like to go as well. I have heard that the best time to go is actually a couple of days BEFORE the festival actually starts. Most of the sculptures are finished by then and there are actual vacancies in the hotels etc and a lot less people. That is certainly appealing.
But I have yet to attend and find out the validity of what I was told yet. Maybe next year.

Did she end up getting custody back from her ex-husband? I thought after the divorce, the son (not daughter) was given to the ex to raise and I had heard she started fighting for custody several years after the fact. Hadn't heard what happened with that.
[later] Okay, doing a bit more "research" into this, the ex initially had parental custody but Namie had to pay child support. Eventually, parental custody was shifted to her.
So lord only know where her 11 year old son was during this time. Maybe the luggage compartment.

I don't particularly expect them to be available in Japan during the first batch. Could be wrong. Will keep an eye on them, though.

There was an article quite some time back saying that the Japanese didn't really like watching "ordinary" people on game shows win things on tv shows. Something to do with jealousy or the like. As a result, the shows eventually started to phase out "ordinary" people and migrate to "talento" doing the shows (e.g.: "Who Wants to be a Millionaire")
About the only "game" show featuring "ordinary" people I can think of is "Shinkon-san Irasshai!" Oh, and perhaps "TV Champion"

Another article that could do with some editing to make it more clear.
She has remarried TO her first love, she remarried WITH her first love. Ms. Yoshimoto was married to an American man in 2001 but divorced about 4 years later. The divorce was never announced to the public.

I have only every played 7 and absolutely HATED it. Definitely not a good way to be introduced to what is supposed to be a classic series. The game never seemed to decided whether it wanted to be an interactive movie or an RPG and there was never any indication as to which mode you were in. Occassionally, you would be waiting for a movie sequence to continue but it has shifted to RPG mode. You would take 2 steps and it would shift back to movie mode again. And by the time I got to the end of it, I really felt like I lost. It seemed like everyone was killed off by the end.
Glad I bought it used and even more glad I sold it off again.
