I wonder if any FEMALE police have a say on this topic? Men with power seem to want to protect what is most important to men in this country. Which is that men still remain very dominant over women. Enjoy the meeting fellas!

I think by law anything found washed ashore is yours to keep. I remember a container ship losing cargo a few years back and people were racing to the beach opening the containers and taking home brand new motorbikes, etc. Still, yeah, I hope he gets it back too!

I hope the makers of THE COVE movie catch wind of this and voice their opinion on it. After all, their movie and activism is most likely what caused Taiji to retaliate with, what I think, is a freekin ridiculous idea.

Never ceases to amaze me how foreigners come to Japan and demand change. What they do in America just does not work. What you demand is not going to happen.
>
We demand changes because it works! If there is something wrong or dangerous in a community it ought to be changed. Sometimes the government is too busy to notice which is when the public steps in to make the authorities aware of the problem. In my opinion more people should stand up and fight for what is right in Japan.** I'm sure if there was a blog of some sort for gaijin to make note of things which could possibly be changed in Japan to make it a better country ( things which Japanese people are possibly un aware of unless they have lived over seas), then I think the blog would fill up pretty quickly with some great and some what obvious ideas.** Of course the same goes for our countries too... we should adapt great ideas from other countries too. Many (countries) do to some degree.

Congratulations Osaka for cluing onto an idea which works well in most civilized countries. Next step... PREVENTION! Try banning any references to children in the adult industry and those rape manga magazines. Seriously... IT'S PLAIN WRONG!

This all stemmed from the that one lady suing Honda right? Ridiculous. Only in America. Next, lets sue McDonalds because the pictures of their burgers don't look the same as what we receive to eat. It would have been nice though if the people suing decided to donate that money back to the tsunami victims. With that disaster and Japans current economy taking from them and tarnishing their reputation probably isn't the best thing to do.

Unfortunately the way media portrays young girls (and boys too I guess) as cute and little objects via manga, music, tv, etc is simply just wrong. That in turn, influences how children dress and act. One thing many gaijin are surprised to see here is how little (young) children are covered up or how mature they dress. Some of the stuff they wear resembles what young adults would wear to a night club. I agree with what some have said... stop it at the source. The more people that fantasize about children through watching it the more likely they will take the next step and abuse, harass or rape a young innocent child. And yeah, harsher penalties across the board for serious crimes. Wake up Japan, its been said time and time again.

Yeah please don't stereotype Aussies as drinkers who can't control themselves after they have had one too many... cuz, that goes for everyone. It's always unfortunate to hear of someone passing away, especially if they are on vacation trying to enjoy themselves. Let's just hope it was only an accident.

Whatever happened to majority rules? Most countries are against whaling and the few that support Japan were bribed by them. Google 'Japan bribes for whaling'. As for the trolls posting here supporting whaling, get a life.

Yikes~ I'm a little concerned. I'm recently divorced after being married for 2 years and with her for a total of almost 7 years, but according to these new rules, does that mean they take away my visa just because I am divorced? I have a job, a home, etc... but my visa is only for another year so having to give all that up suddenly would be a bit harsh.

@rickyvee I doubt it's their choice where they make appearances and to who. Yeah I doubt many children knew who they were but at least they are still doing something, months after the disaster. And seriously, go to Fukushima? Would you suggest the same for Barcelona FC who are here now? Speaking of, I doubt all the kids who met Barcelona FC knew who they were too. Yeah tons of musicians, etc showed their face then... but who still does that now?

It may be money grabbing but as the article mentions, they are giving back to the community. Doing something is better than doing nothing and I'm sure there are many well paid entertainers in Japan (and across the world) who have barely lifted a finger to help the Tsunami victims, especially the children. The Jacksons get to relive their glory days and make people happy at the same time so good on 'em if they profit from it too. They are profiting from people who can afford tickets and to go to the concerts and giving back to the people who don't have much money and giving them something to do and hope for in life.
