What's the matter these days, Ramen? You don't usually step in it quite so readily.

*Republican presidential candidate John McCain took in $6.8 million in donations yesterday, when he named Alaska Governor Sarah Palin his running mate..... The amount is more than the Arizona senator raised during the entire fourth…

Palin did not mentioned the trip during an interview last week with ABC News because she wanted to verify the facts

She needed to verify whether or not she had been in a war zone?

She gets her kicks killing moose.

    A loose cannon.

When the world's orphanages are all empty, the global population is falling and there is a shortage of babies needing love and care, then I will understand the need for surrogate births.

The parade in Kawasaki is a classic example. It has nothing to do with the tradition if Halloween.

You mean killing livestock for winter stores and throwing the bones on a bonfire, and wearing masks to escape the evil spirits that wander the earth on the night before All Saints?

the procedure is comparatively cheap in Japan - around 100,000 yen.

We're not talking rice here, but I'm not sure that cheap should be the primary consideration when letting someone loose near your eyes with a laser! That said, the standard in Japan seems to be pretty high, and none…

    Nessie -

During the gyoza scandal, wasn't one of the clues pointing to the contamination having occurred in China the fact that the stuff is banned/not produced in Japan? (Though I think there was some small amount being made for research purposes - fuzzy memory on that.)

Sorry, imojochu is a clear strong liquor made from sweet potatoes and, apparently, rice. Lakefuls of the stuff have been recalled after the manufacturers realised they'd used contaminated, unfit-for-consumption rice to make it.

    “I didn’t hesitate, no,”

Personally, I would rather someone who may one day have her beautifully-manicured finger on the Big Red Button did have the habit of hesitating and thinking things through before making big decisions.

Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God…

Matsunami is talking claptrap. Were the holders of the Japanese spirit who beat up the young lad in the sumo stable and then tried to cover it up by offering to take charge of his funeral 'bearers of the Japanese culture'?

The only Japanese spirit worth having is imojochu -…
