the wrong blood type can literally kill you as can the extra time a doctor needs to run a blood type test if you're bleeding to death in the ER.

A person bleeding to death in ER is probably past telling the doc his blood type, and a check would be done anyway. Only takes a second. No doc is going to lay himself open to a malpractice suit because he believed the delirious ramblings of an accident victim in dire straits.

Patient : Oh doc, it hurts! Oh! help me!

Doc: Right, you've been run over by a bus, shot by a gangster and stabbed by a little old lady who just happened to be passing by. You're losing a lot of blood and need a transfusion. Now, what's your blood type?

Patient: Oh! Help me doc! Oh! Oh!

Doc: O it is. Nurse, get me a large bag of O type blood.

Patient: Ey? What did you say? I can't hear you....things are fading away...

Doc: A? You say you're type A? Make your mind up!

Comedy does not exist in Japan.

Not on a meaningful level, at least. When I want comedy, I want British comedy.

All that Japanese hitting people over the head and pulling funny faces leaves me cold.

Our comedians are famous around the world, for example, Adam Sandler

    Never heard of him.

Since when did 'scientific research' ever warrant deliberately hurting people? They're supposed to be doing nothing more than counting whales, fercrissakes.

Australia's pussyfooting around the whalers and diplomatic kowtowing has apparently convinced them that they can do whatever they like with impunity. Vicious little thugs.

they shouldn't be where they shouldn't be doing what they shouldn't be doing

    Describes the whalers perfectly.

And what are iron grappling hooks and jabs in the eye with a bamboo pole? http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/breaking-news/whalers-attack-with-hooks-sea-shepherd/story-fn3dxity-1226247381846

IWC Article VIII REQUIRES that the whales taken under Scientific permits are CONSUMED.

Strange then that the only bits of whale that get taken back to Japan are the edible bits (and a few phials of sperm to use in the Cross-Breed With Pigs, Cows and Mice FrankenExperiments). A huge part of each whale is tipped back into sea after they've finished 'researching' it. If the researchers were being truly ethical about 'consuming' the by-products of their 'research', they'd take back all the blood and guts to turn into fertiliser. Instead they choose to dump it in the ocean. What does that tell us about the purpose of the 'lethal research'?

Familienprobleme - I'm not saying people shouldn't get divorced. I'm saying that people who, in your words, simply are not made to stay with one person for life would do better if they didn't tie themselves up in what is by definition an arrangement that involves staying with one person for life. Considering the huge numbers of people who get married, I'd say that most do see staying with one person for life as the ideal.

Mod, the amount she donated is 35 million. An immediate 5 million, and another 30 million a few days later, presumably the time it took to get that much money through the banking system.

my book of ethics it says: when you help, you don't brag about it.

Where is she bragging about it?

Also what millions has she donated to anyone?

In March 2011 she donated 35 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross. She also designed a charity T-shirt, proceeds from sales to go to Tohoku relief efforts. http://asiapacificarts.usc.edu/w_apa/showarticle.aspx?articleID=16535&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

Most of us simply are not made to stay with one person for life.

I'd say 'most' is an exaggeration.

It's quite simple though, if you're one of those not made to stay with one person for life, just don't get married in the first place. Saves a lot of tears, heartache and solicitor's fees.

Japan in general is fed up with Greenpeace since the 80s till now.. So they are tempted to press charges in any way

Obviously they are not tempted to press charges in any way, since the men were set free. And what has Greenpeace got to do with any of this? Greenpeace is not in the Antarctic trying to save whales.

It is Japanese government property, breaking and entering, damage to their property..

The Shonan Maru 2 is the property of Kyodo Senpaku Kaisha, for all that it has GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN painted on the side.

The three men slipped in under the razor wire. They did not break anything, damage any property, hurt, injure or threaten anybody.

Seriously trespassers convicted as terrorists HA! Maybe in Japan

Seriously, in Japan there was no way that was ever going to happen. When the Japanese realised the most they could clobber the men for was trespass, taking them back to Japan for trial and prosecution was off the table. They wanted the story out of the media as quickly and as quietly as possible.

    When you rob a bank...

    No one robbed a bank.

Unless you mean the whalers who are plundering the seas.

they have done a terrorist act.

Climbing unarmed onto a boat manned by armed security guards is terrorism? No. At the most, it's trespassing.

Killing people and blowing things up is terrorism.

The 3 fools were under Japanese jurisdiction.

    In Aussie waters.

The Sea Shepherd crew do not have the right to determine how Australian tax dollars are spent

The Sea Shepherd crew did not determine how Aussie tax dollars are spent. It was the Aussie PM who decided to go chasing the SM2 way down south, instead of insisting it stay in Aussie waters until the men (none of whom are SS crew members) were released. Or the men could have been transferred to the nearby Steve Irwin at no cost at all to the Aussie taxpayer.

you're getting downvoted because the word "coerced" seems to imply that the murderer somehow had no choice

Now I see, thanks for the heads-up. Not what I meant at all. I was just wondering if perhaps whoever did it had been on the receiving end of the unwelcome ministrations of the organs in question. I think there would have to be quite a strong feeling of anger/hate to kill somebody and then mutilate them in that way. I agree absolutely that nothing justifies killing a person - though once they're dead, mutilation is nothing but low-class bad taste - a bit like weeing on dead people and laughing about it.

The question is, how come I got so many thumbs-downs for asking a simple question? Mrs Babbitt did it because she objected to her husband forcing himself on her. A woman scorned surely wouldn't find herself within cutting distance in the first place?
