There is a lot of shop in Japan without the money trays- for instance seven eleven combinis. Pies and real chips do make a decent meal that tarako can't. There are meaningless greetings in English. Have a good day. Thank you for your work. You can say a lot of meaningless stuff if you want- mindless Japanese speak is so packed into the language.

Don't read this story as one of corporate power- Japanese corporation would like all sort of reforms but Abe's and other Japanese government has next to nothing. The only way to get ahead is for corporations to cheat. The story is one of weak government as far as acting as police. Japanese governments like gathering statistics, creating laws and spending money.

Any western agency would make that ad in a fraction of those takes with CGI and meshing of slow motion shots- its looks fake anyway.

So backtracking on allowing local decisions on wind-power. That didn't take long.
Goodbye BBC- thank god at last that corrupt organization that totally fails to follow its charter is going to be gone. If they stop the green bs than you can start saying hello to employment.

JR management of problems is atrocious. Delay and delay no useful information given to passengers. They should have just run the trains normally if not that then slowly but not a long section of stop and stop except for the danger section. My wife checked online for me while the problem was happening and if I had followed that trip search I would have been seriously late for my work despite it being nominally better. Fortunately I had an alternative travel path.
No doubt the actual workers were contractors (working to an hourly wage) led by a seishain and he didn't want to work on the weekend or do overtime even though it was obvious to at least do some makeshift work on the structure. Obviously failing or damaged structures need some work immediately- with less obvious defects there is time to consider when to re-mediate but not this time.

If you love smoking, buy a large air filtering gas mask and smoke under that- get full value from your cigarettes. I'd have no problem you smoking anywhere. I bet a smoker would quit very quick under those conditions- the putrid smoke getting their eyes and nose. It would also discourage under-age smoking. Many Japanese smokers don't like other people smoke in smoking rooms.

Standard illogical nonsense from a court. Happens in every court in the world- quite a lot of times in the US. Judges never take their job seriously.

Japanese hate these squat toilets too- if they have choice it will always be the last to be used.
Its a disgrace that even new toilets don't always have means to supply soap and some means of drying your hand. The building where I have Japanese lessons as well as some government departments had new toilets put in all level and they didn't have hand drying means of any type. Their squat toilets are last to be used.
If the foreigners use only convenience stores , shopping centres, restaurants`, other semiprivate and private toilets, then they get the impression that all toilets here are very clean and much more likely modern. Using public and train station toilets would show they how primitive and dirty toilets are in Japan.
Its a mystery that people can't understand washlets when they have pictures.

Earthquake scientist- there's no such thing. You can't experiment on the Earth- you can at best gather the barest scraps of evidence- only succeeding at 0.000001% The forces of the Earth are vast and unknowable. The Earth's interior is woefully unexplored. Seismic relies on the information that you are gathering to determine the information that you need- Any petrophysicist knows that so they do cores and samples from drilling to cross-correlate the seismic properties and therefore do the remote sensing needed. For the interior there is little to nothing to correlate the seismic.
Its not that TEPCO knew and that's it was likely for a tsunami to come sometime but with modern nuclear management there wouldn't been a major problem- antiquated management leads to disaster not that its much of a disaster.

Japanese real food like kontotsu- its tasteless without the heavy sauces- no matter which restaurant. Sushi is generally terrible- even ToshiMaru. Japanese chefs generally don't care about taste. There truly ghastly ramen shops. Gyoza is usually tasteless rubber even their specialty shops. I had better Japanese food in local restaurant in my home country. Japanese food is fast food.

High schools would be worst- they have a lot of sports with children running around the streets not just on weekdays also weekends and far more than once a year sports days. It really shows how rude Japanese that they can't handle these issues without going to court.

Gyoza- packaged or shop produced are usually tasteless. No doubt this will be a lot of flavorless gyoza.

Really its the balance of programs on Japanese TV that screwed up- very few movies (Japanese/Korean/English) shown, excessive celebrities doing the same stuff, cooking shows with no pizazz- in Australia we have Ready Steady Cook where the host buys a select group of foods from a market and chefs are challenged to make something based on those foods. The Japanese cops shows go against the status quo- a firefighter investigating suspicious incidents, a lower level detective investigating crimes that steps on the toes of their superiors.

They can hark back "still waiting for those structural reforms promised"- the key third plank of Abenomics . The economic structure is a mix of pre-war and feudal times- why should serfs expect real incomes.
Government is useless in Japan- they can just manage to spend and tax- anything more impossible.

You can't possibly explain the errors as anything other they don't care about getting it right- There is a shop in Haneda where is a translation that include crame rather than crane. So many errors are so bad that they could even produced it from a translation program. I complained about waches written Tokyu Hands for watches. They never replied. They finally fixed it and then my wife complained and they belated apologized. You have to compare the within-Japan businesses and the export/foreign presence companies. The within are staffed by seishin who couldn't care less. The export companies can't afford to be slack.

I made my comment on Trip Advisor about a Japanese Hotel- Shinra. They gave us a refund for the meal not supplied but even that was given in the most rude manner- the owner sneered at my wife's complaint and stuffed the refund in cash in an envelope. That hotel was bad in many ways.

Japanese companies are inept are supplying to meet demand. There is a very popular drink- Peach Tea- they can't keep up with supply. Many other products sell wells so they stop supplying it.
As regards this particular nappy situation.
They don't have to export- they can sell to intermediaries- plenty of Chinese to take the real risks.
