I had never lost trust or confidence in the news I was receiving from the Japanese government or TEPCO. if there was a cause for concern, wouldn't they move the Emperor and the PM and his cabinet to more safer areas before they let us know what is happening.

And comparing to what other governments tell their citizens I can confidently say the Japanese are more honest so I still will trust them.

Posted in: What do you think about the current disclosure of information by the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) concerning the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant complex, compared to the first few weeks of the crisis? For example, do you feel you are getting more reliable information now?

Drink lots of fluids (preferably homemade lemonade with lemons and sugar with some salt (iodized salt is better given the current atmosphere) , wearing cotton and avoiding synthetic fabrics, keeping a hand fan ready with you at all times and avoiding high calorie foods. Also switching from warm water showers to cold helps. Even an unrelated thing as adapting a hobby like reading helps, because it will help taking your mind off the want to watch TV or connect to the internet. Most of the remedies will all have to be psychological, the reason being simply that your body does not actually complain of discomfort, its you mind that suggests it. Simply distracting it will help a lot. I speak from experience because I am from a developing country and with summer temperatures averaging 45 degrees centigrade, we are used to living without power.

'GJDailleult' the guy got arrested because he stayed to take pictures of the carnage he had done. Plus the guys he killed never approached his car, they were following him but, still Davis did not have a valid reason to empty nearly 20 bullets into them.

Having a diplomatic passport does not make one a diplomat. The person should also have a valid diplomatic visa issued by the host country on it to be able claim immunity. Which in this case Davis here does not have.

if the law does come to pass then what...some people might try and claim double benefits for married people because they have different names and also how would the tax thing work...it will be double the paperwork because (again) the names are different, and so on.

Greed rules Toyota which makes it blind to its ills. A corolla sold in Thailand, India or Pakistan etc, is more expensive than the one sold here and quality is crap. On par with early 90's cars.

Also they do not make budget, exciting cars anymore.

The guy's name is Raymond Davis and he is not a diplomat, an official but not a diplomat.

Three months ago the Pakistani Govt banned all foreigners from carrying weapons and issued orders for all diplomatic staff to use the security personnel provided for all their outings, but, still this happened. And knowing Pakistani's they will make this issue into something else and escalate it further.

yeah,,,and if something happens then you will blame JR for not giving enough warnings. So basically JR with all these announcements is protecting and covering your asses and its own.

Seems like the author has had too much of Japan.

There are other countries also needs radical moves like this, to be taken by the people. Corrupt leaders do not realize that they are sitting there because of the support of the people. I hope other leaders (like the one in Pakistan) take note and come to their senses.

I hope this works out for the people of Tunisia.

It actually becomes a matter of choice, either you choose success or 6-pack abs. Both require time and unfortunately life provides us with enough for one. And if you believe it to be false then you are not living, you are just going through the routines.

Since Americans like suing so much I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea if Toyota went after the licencing authorities for not testing the applicants if they could differentiate the differences between the brake and the gas pedal.

They could argue if the question is on the written test. And this is for the automatic transmission test. I think manual transmission license holders are expected to have a little more intelligence, otherwise they wouldn't be able to get their cars moving in the first place

'The insurers cite data that blames 725 crashes on the problem and fault the Japanese automaker for failing to equip its cars with an override system that would cause a car to idle if the brake and gas were deployed simultaneously'

Are they kidding, exactly which other cars do have the failsafe where if one presses the brake and accelerator simultaneously, the car idles. And if there is such a car then please enlighten us.

That lawsuit will be thrown out solely on this point i.e., if this is what the insurance companies are arguing.
